Anyone have any experiences with the Diva Cup?

I had no problems inserting mine this morning....I'm just a little leary about taking the thing out without spilling it everywhere....

    any tips, advice, funny stories?

I've had a good experience with the Diva cup over all. Mine only leaks on my 2 heaviest days. The best advice I have is to make sure that after you put it in, you twist it around a bit to make sure it opens all the way, then pull it down some. Also, use your kegel muscles and get them in shape, it helps prevent leaks.

I have heard only good things about the diva cup, it doesnt not really spill and does not overflow of course. I am just hesitant about using mine because I am rather small so to speak.

Cate...they do make two different sizes....there is a size 1 that might work for you...it is for women under 30 who haven't ever had any children....I've also heard the Mooncup (made in the UK, similiar to the Diva Cup) is slightly smaller than the Diva Cup

i love my moon cup! it is amazing. there are some really great communities on livejournal about cups that have crazy good information. just go there and search for menstrual cup or something of the sort and you will find them :)

    LOVE it! LOVE!
It has made menstrating so much less of a negative experience. It's so clean and scent free, and ecologically better. I would very muchg recommend!

Just picked up a Diva a few weeks ago myself. Have yet to test it fully in action but I'm sure I'll get around to that in a week.

I noticed my period also didn't seem to last as long when I used the Diva Cup....which I'm not complaining about at all....

it might be less comfortable inserting it the first time but that would ease after that , I used tampons when I was a virgin and it worked out ok...except at the time I did not yet know how destructive tampons where to my body and the environment...and If a person is not feeling ready to be inserting products like a diva cup then there are cloth re-useable pads.

I have a diva cup Im still freaked out about using it, I feel sooo sketched having it there. Also, I just feel like cloth pads would be so bulky!!! But I do feel destructive using normal, like Kotex products etc...Ill have to suck it up sometime.

it does not suction though, and like anything yo uget used to it with time, and like each to their own, but I feel like the damage done by things like tampons is rather large and unhealthy and the env't degration by the use of these products is devestating...

I like love my diva cup though so I'm a promoter at all costs, but like some people just don't like useing products they put inside themselves and that's cool and like cloth pads are something to get used to but it's a huge improvment.

There are also keeper cups that are somewhat smaller looking then diva cups if it's size that is the issue.

I've had problems with the DivaCup before.. it's given me awful infections before. But I was too stubborn to stop using it completely because it really is a lovely contraption. It's so much easier than any other mainstream product once you get used to it. This cycle has actually been great now that I think of it.. no problems. I wonder why I get problems sometimes and other times never have anything bad happen.
