Hey guys n gals i have about 70 dreads, and im just wondering if they will naturally thicken up over time? ive stopped the use of beeswax so that should help i hope, i fat beasty locks, and i allredy have like 2 congos devloping
did you get rid of the wax you already put in, if not it'll probably stop it from happening but otherwise they should thicken up eventually....i honestly have no personal experience of it tho, only 41 days into my journey, just a theory. peace!
i read somewhere that they shrink while the knots get tighter, and then when all shrinkage is done, they get fatter & longer.. think about it, when you have normal hair, strands come out when you wash/brush it, and with dreads that loose/fallen out hair cant come out, so it stays in the dreads
they thicken by congoing but keep in mind the thicker they are the hatder they are to care for especialy if theyre really thick its hard to get the scalp clean underneath em.. they alsop dry slower at the core so are easier to mold..expecialy if u got wax trapped in there that i canty get out
mine have doubled in girth after 4 months, but alot of the bottom half dreaded up into the upper part
how thick is your hair brmat? 70 is a lot of dreads, so depending on your hair type they might not get that thick unless you combine them. Most I see with thick ones have, at the most, 35.
I have very thick hair, my dreads are semi combining now and its only been bit over 2 months since i got em, and i did get told by someone else that all the hair you lose gradually makes the dreads thickser, i saw one gus dreads at 1 month, they were thin as anything, then at 2.5 years they were thick as, so i hope this will happen to mine?
