well i was diagnosed with ADD in 8th grade and recieve 36mg Concerta daily for it. I also have short acting medicine that im suppose to take if my daily dose of Concerta wears off and i still have to do something or if i sleep in too late and i dont want to be up all night for the next day. But people say that the medicine calms a person with ADD down and speeds a person up who doesn't have it. But i dont know, because it causes me to speed up, like im wired but not like hyper i feel wired but focused, and motivated. Im not sure i have always had self doubt about this desease but the medicine does help and i dont think i could quit now. Like if i dont take it for a day, i feel like im hung over and I always end up taking like a 4-5 hour nap in the afternoon.
do you really have ADD? well i have friends who dont get buzzed at all by amphetamine-related compounds. MDMA is of course no included. it just sorta makes them apathetic and focussed on whatever theyre doin. it doesnt speed them up, make them fidgity, stop them from sleeping, etc. most of all, they dont enjoy taking it. this includes people whove been on the stuff for a while, and others whove just tried speed here and there
have you ever tried taking a holiday from all the chemicals in your food, etc? look at this, okay? http://www.feingold.org/diet/dietshell.html login is : here/foryou
get off that shit it is so bad for you it was black listed by the FDA!!!! i was on it and im off it now im doing so much better HUMANS ARE MEANT TO GET DISTRACTED it doesnt mean you have a disorder because you get distracted it means your just bored not mentally ill!

ADD isnt just about being distracted though, and real ADD (not just excitable children), the people who get affected differently by amphetamines, they actually have a very different neurochemistry. while it might not be a 'disorder', it can lead to dis-order in the society we live in, i just think the real ADD people need to be seperated from the pseudo-ADD kids (where a psychiatrist is looking at behavioral symptoms, and not cognitive)
