Do psychedelics ever ruin something for you?

I took 2ci last week and I was really liking Cage the Elephant before this experience. During the experience I watched the video of In One Ear by them and something about the music and the video seemed very corny and marketed. The lyrics kind of have a rebellious nature but it seemed like a very controlled and marketed rebellion when I watched it on youtube. It seemed like the directors knew their target audience and seemed like it was just as marketed as a Britney Spears video, only to teenage aggression and 'rebellion.'

Has there been any enterntainment that you had enjoyed prior to psychedelics or looked forwarded to experiencing on psychedelics but it either made you dislike it or it was disappointing as to what you were expecting?

 

YES. with almost everything permanently now! movies just seem like it's showing every damn intentional thing. Like have you guys ever noticed signs while driving on a street? You're just in a bubble! idk, it's just eerie.
I watched the Saw movies on acid one time and as much as I laughed, i found it stupid how movies in general only show you the important dramatic things.
With music, its why im into the weird and artsy music im into now.
and it's why television is absolutely terrible now

 

Haha. When I was on mushrooms I HATED all technology. I didn't want to get in my friends car and I was completely ready to walk back to my boyfriend's house which was a ways away. But they made me. And I threw my cell phone and then took my boyfriend's and threw that too. I was pretty sure I would never like anything robot-like again. However the next day I got over it and drove home. Haha. So I guess not yet...

 

Watching Fear and Loating in Las Vegas on 33mg of 2c-E ruined the movie for me, but not during the trip. It was so amazing, that I can't watch the movie anymore unless I'm tripping.

 

Definitely films.

That really depends on the movie, as well as how hard one is tripping. Watching movies when I'm tripping balls, I sometimes become so engulfed by the characters/plot that I forget it's even a movie.

 

that's what happened to me my first time on acid watching Cloverfield. Doesn't help that it's shot POV style lol . . .

It's weird though, a movie I find pretty deep and intriguing (donnie darko) was less interesting when I was tripping.
I know the solution though.. (trip harder)

 

on 2ce i watched a music video from a band a really like, and it seemed really corny. now i can't watch the video, and even if i listen to the song alone, i'm reminded of the cornyness


also, cage the elephant sucks. i saw them live (they were the opening band) and they were TERRIBLE.

 

LOL yah i dunno, they were one of those guilty pleasures for me or something. But 2ci gave me an aversion to them now. I get sick every time their music crosses my mind. Just out of curiosity what was the song/band that you watched the music video for?

psychedellics give you better taste in art

some things go out the window, but new things come in

 

^ Better taste as in like being an art snob? I mean most the psychedelic experience for me seems to be about holding an anti-elitist attitude.

 

Probably one of those boring trippers, but so far I haven't engaged in much media while tripping. Sometimes I'll listen to some music to help things along, but tend to steer clear of movies /tv. Probably because tripping is still novelty for me partially, though not having cable or a good movie collection helps.

I'm sure one day I'll find myself watching Blow at 4am with the world spinning around me, just not yet...

 

Psychedelics made me schitzo. I see fuckin dead people alright. You made me say it.

 

This might be weird, but after doing acid, i didnt like Led Zeppelin for a while, and i used to listen to them like everyday.
