Hey, this is my first time writing a thread in this forum and I need some help! I live with my parents and 2 nights ago i decided to go outside and toke up, but when I came back inside I forgot I left my lighter in my pocket and put my pants in the hamper. The next day my mom came up to me with the lighter and was like, "I found this in the wash in your pants pocket! Do you smoke???" Now before I tell you the rest of what happened I have to mention that a few nights before she found the lighter I was caught drinking with my friends, we left a bottle cap on the floor in my house, dumb move. So my parents are kind of on the lookout for any suspicious activity. And I told her "NO! I just learned this trick where I can make the flame on a lighter go really high and I was showing my friend and left it in my pocket!" I don't think she bought it. So today I come home and I open my closet and I realize that my weed-cleanup bag filled with a febreze spray can, a box of dryer sheets, a box of ziplocks, and a ziplock filled with insence sticks is empty! I look in my laundry room and find the febreze bottle in there. My mom found the bag and emptied it. Now, my question is, do you think they know? And if my mom confronts me about the bag what should I say all that stuff was for??? Please help! I really don't wannna get caught lol. P.S. I just learned that my dad's best friend is a pothead and I'm pretty sure my dad was when he was younger, not sure tho, but he knew exactly how to make an apple bowl (how i know that is a different story) but I'm still sure my parents would be PISSED if they found out I smoke, Im 15 by the way.
they know u smoke, but if it will lesson the blow try saying it was only tobacco, there not retarded. dont bring weed into the house for a week or two since they techinically have no concrete proof u mihgt be able to play it off and let things blow over. or burn some paper and shit and just say u like fire, u got a shitload of new problems on your hands but not about weed by the way ur profile says ur 20 so um change it?
Just don't mention anything unless they bring it up to you...and in the meantime hide your stash extremely well and be careful about the little things like lighters in the pocket or seeds on the floor... Sometimes parents are more immature about marijuana than their kids who use it. Like I have no problem talking about it or bringing it up, but they always get super uncomfortable and kind of skirt around the issue....kind of like the sex talk. I told my parents just a few days ago (mistake) but it was funny because now whenever the above the influence commericals come on my mom like averts her eyes from me, and she mentioned the day I told them as "The day you gave us the good news." lol
Thanks guys, well they are gonna find out sooner or later. I was like talking to my dad about it after he found out I was drinking, I forget how it came up, but I was like "Yeah, it's just as bad as alcohol (A lie to make him think I know nothing about pot, let alone smoke it.) and he was like "Oh, I would think it is better for you than alcohol" so I'm glad he knows that it's not medically as bad as alcohol but I still think I'll have to prove to him that it's not medically bad for you AT ALL. As for legal issues, I'll just tell him that I'll do it in a safe environment, like my house or woods in my backyard or something like that where it would be hard to get caught. I am not sure how he will react tho if he finds out. He was REALLY angry about the drinking but my mom was more chill with it, ugh i dnt know, i'm confused as shit.
Haha, funny... sounds like my mom. (They know I smoke, but they've never caught me in action or seen my stuff. They don't want to, nor do I want them to, unless they'll smoke with me of course!) Sometimes we talk about it, but it's usually me or my sister who brings it up (like the benefits). And my mom's like.... "Ahuh..... uh.... yeah...." She doesn't like to talk about it. It IS very much like the sex talk. Lol! The other day she was in my room using my computer and one of those above the influence commercials came on. I was like, fuck, this is gonna be awkward, and I don't want her to get any wrong informations. So.... flip. Changed the channel before she knew it was on. Oh yeah, and Psizzle? I think they know something, definitely. You could confront your mom and asked her why she confiscated your stuff (respectfully of course). Then tell her you have smoked a few cigarettes but don't really like them. You don't have to make it about weed. Good luck.
^Thanks, I just wish I knew how they would react before this all happened. Like if I asked them when I was younger what would happen if they caught me smoking or why they wouldn't want me to lol. I'm a very paranoid person lol so this whole situation is freakin me out.
they know dude. Chances are you're dad used to do it and he definately knows whats up. You should tell them before they confront you. That shows them that you have respect for them.
With a LIGHTER that high they probable think hes smoking crack.... At least you could use that in defence " well mom its not crack Im smoking it only weed"
I wish I knew what it was like to have this awkward sex talk people always are going on about. My folks raised me openly about sex. Its almost a common dinner time discussion like asking how was work today. Sometimes I wish for normalcy.
I never actually had "the talk" with my parents either (my oldest sister explained it to me). My parents didn't want us to know. They didn't think about the future when we might have to. But talking about sex with them is quite awkward, which is what I mean in my post. I think it's more risky to NOT tell your children anything. From personal experience, kids who don't know about the risks of sex (or anything at all about it) will be more curious and likely to experiment unsafely (then end up getting pregnant or worse). If you talk to them and show them how to be safe, they'll probably be better off.
parents aren't stupid.. if they found all that stuff then they probably know you smoke especially if your dad smoked when he was younger
fess up to your dad, he seems more tolerant. if you can play it off as tobacco with your mom, go for it, but talk to your dad about that too. and don't forget that your mom's been rummaging through your shit. that's not cool, and you have the right to let her know.
^ Actually my dad is the less tolerant one. Like when they found out I was drinking my mom was like "It's ok, your a teenager and you are going to experiment with a lot of different things. I did the same thing when I was your age." But my dad was like screamin and cursing and shit. After he did that my mom told me that he used to be a "bad kid" when he was younger and did a lot of bad shit. I don't know exactly what she meant by that but hopefully in her language bad means pothead. lol

that sucks dude lol. i don't understand how parents can get so pissed off over pot. you should leave a crackpipe out in the open, or a razor blade and a cut straw with some powdered chalk around the end, that will really blow their minds!
