I feel like i have way to much stuff, all the time... And it always gives me that weird uncomfortable greedy feeling.

I have a 50" flat screen TV in my bedroom, a PS3, xbox360, Wii, PSP, DS, sound system, literally 100s of games for all my systems, Iphone 4, Ipod nano, Ipod touch, blueray player, playstation move, Kinect, etc... All in my bedroom...

But the thing is, i've honestly never asked my parents to get me any of this (besides the phone, i'll admit i begged a little for that :p lol)

But i just feel so... blah, having all of this stuff. Because i literally never use any of it at all (besides my sound system, phone, and tv sometimes of course, and i like my ps3 for some games and movies but thats it)

I feel so spoiled having this all, it makes me feel greedy and weird having it, because i feel so much guilt for never using more than half this stuff, it feels like a waste of money...

I'm thinking of donating a lot of this stuff if i can find a good organization, or giving it to some friends that aren't as well off. But also, my family isn't even rich either, we're like... lower middle class, yet they keep buying me stuff?

Do any of you ever feel this way?

Keep your games, just start using them differently.

Next time your at school, walk up to one of those kids who doesn't look like they would have much and invite to come and game at your house. You might meet a best friend friend for life.

I would feel if I had all that stuff :D I'm quite content with my stuff though, since after all I had to earn it myself. If I could affort it I'd buy a new sound system, since mine is terribly old and I use it daily.
I can't imagine if back when i lived with my parents and I got a 50'' tv for me alone in my bedroom (i know this is gettin kind of common but it just seems wrong to me :p) and all those game consoles from them and not feeling spoiled. I like your attitude though, hope you act upon it :)

Giving to friends who may not have sounds like a cool idea. You can always ask for it back should you change your greedy mind ;)

And no I don't' feel that 'cuz I don't' have nearly the amount of things you do! ;)

That's a pretty good idea, i always see this one kid that's always alone. He just sits there by himself at lunch on a bench reading a book, every day...

I've always wanted to go talk to him, i even suggested it to my friends one day while we were looking for a place to just sit down, and i'm like "hey, what about over there?" *points to the bench with the lonely kid on it* and they just laughed as if they thought i was kidding... lol

I hate talking to those type of people though because i feel like they might think i'm just trying to mock or make fun of them, because there's also this other kid that literally just walks around our school every lunch by himself, so one day i said hello to him as he was walking by, and he looked up at me as if i was being all rude and continued to walk away without saying anything back...

Yeah, if i earned all this stuff myself i'm sure it would be a bit different too lol. But i hate having all this stuff given to me because it makes me seem so spoiled, even though i'm not. Like, my moms buying me a car soon as i get my full license, and she's putting a down payment on a house for me soon as i move out. It probably seems so weird that i'm complaining about stuff that people would love to have, but it makes me feel so 'weird' having/getting all this stuff. I think i prefer a more simple life, i'm not very materialistic.

Whenever I start feeling like I have too much, I sometimes remember that instead of feeling guilt, I could also feel grateful. Perhaps the guilt arises from taking things for granted. Some people may seemingly have a more unfortunate life, but you don't always know what exactly a person really treasures in life. I bet sometimes it can be the love they have and not the shit they own.

Holy yeah batman, that is a lot of stuff! My mother never bought us that much, my siblings and I had to pool out resources to buy things we wanted. Now that I have a 360, almost 4 or 5 years since it was released, I really appreciate it.

But yeah I get what you mean, if I had all those things you had just to myself I would be feelin' some real guilt right about now.

You sound like you have a pretty good attitude about everything.

I think as long as you remain grateful for the advantages you have in life, you'll be alright. By advantages, I don't neccessarily mean the material things. You have parents that obviously love you a lot. View their gifts as tokens of love and share them with other people and no one can ever call you greedy or spoiled :)

Depends on what you think is too much?... I spent around $800 on different fishing equipment over the past couple months..., It's never enough :D

Haha i'd appreciate it as much as you too if i had to wait that long! :D

I remember a few years ago, whenever the 360 came out, i just came home from school and it was sitting there in my room, i was completely surprised! Same thing happened with the Wii and PS3.

I have many material possessions. I don't care though. People always find my collections interesting when they come over so that's cool.

That's pretty good advice! To replace the guilt, with gratefulness. I'm sure I've taken many things for-granted many times.

It can be cheap.. you can go to your local walmart and buy a $10 rod/reel combo.. and get yourself some hooks for $1.50.. and a bobber for $0.50.. and some split shot for another $1.50.. and a dozen crawlers for $3.00...

Or you can own 3 regular rods.. 4 fly rods... a reel to match every rod i own... and then I tie my own flies.. so materials for that.. and there is never enough materials.. because you always want to tie different patterns.. or you run out.. and certain types of feathers are expensive.. there is some called "Dry Hackle" which is used for flies that float on the surface.. some of that shit costs $50-60 a pop! ... mainly cuz dumb bitches started putting feathers in their hair... and top feather producers started asking more for their products because of the demand

I agree, try and share your good fortune with others. If you really feel uncomfortable with too much stuff, then sell some of it, or give it away. And i have a 13 inch television in my room haha. I actually often go through my belongings and donate them to a couple of different organizations. I like to have things, i am no minimalist, however I try to keep it to things i want to hold onto.

^ Yeah, i think i might want to sell some of the things, because i've been wanting a new laptop for years now (the one thing i want is the one thing my parents don't get me? :D) but i'd also like to donate some stuff.

I feel like such a hoarder with my closet filled with expensive things that i never even touch
