I have a very hard time with this for some reason. It doesn't cause me as much anxiety as it did in the past, but it's still something that just chills me to the bone. Challenging someone because of their ideals or because I think differently and they make it apparent that they're not having any of it. The risk of possible physical harm and determining the worth of the situation at hand. It's just something my mind has a hard time comprehending.

When a situation like that does come up, I'm surprised there isn't smoke coming out of my ears with how many thought processes I must have going on all at one time. Even in my dreams, every now and then I'll be in a heated confrontation and know I should defend myself, but I'm just completely paralyzed with fear and no matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to swing my arms.

 

do you have the courage to avoid fucking up your world by looking for excuses for belligerence?
do you have the courage to tell those who believe two wrongs make a right, that the only 'right' it makes, is their own political 'right wing'?
do you have the courage to avoid typecasting others as enemies, even when that means loosing friends in order to do so?

i'm not suggesting trying to hug everyone who points a gun at you,
nor that there aren't those who have been taught to equate thoughtlessness with freedom,
instead of aggressiveness with that harm it causes.

but i am suggesting, that following their wrong example,
instead of trying to set a better one,
is why tyranny, which is the formalized hierarchy of aggressiveness, exists.

i'm not suggesting any of us can ever be perfect at setting one either,
just that every battle won by belligerence,
contributes to loosing the greater war,
for a world in which the real gratifications of creating and exploring,
might otherwise be available to all.

 

All joking aside, I find it far more upsetting to have any quarrel with friends or family. It is something I avoid if at all possible as it never ends well.

I have seen too many people argue and it continues for years and destroys their relationship. Sadly it was usually over something small and escalated.

 

I have. I would love to feel the ecstatic joy flowing through my body while crushing my enemies.
