Do you....leave your computer running at all times

leave your computer running at all times, or do you shut it off when you're not using it?

 

I usually leave it on all day, and turn it off when I go to sleep.

 

If I'm doin homework I leave it on if I'm not I shut it off so I can try and get stuff done and not be as tempted to come on here. SOmetimes I pretent i have homework i can do on here

 

ya me too, mostly on all day and then turn it off at night. I don't think it's good for the computer to be running all the time. and plus I can't sleep when all i hear is the computer buzzing in the backround. lol

 

If I'm at home its on probably 75% of the time. If I'm at work or sleeping, its always off.

 

I'f l am on my days off from work l leave the computer on day and night..

I turn it off when I'm not using it. I do restart it frequently when I am using it, esp. when playing games.

 

It's on 24/7 except for the occasional restart

 

I never turn the thing off, makes me feel nervous.

Maybe if the power went out...

I turn mine off when I go to sleep, but other than that.. it's always on.

 

Me too, but I am definitely turning it off when I leave to catch my flight.

 

Mine is always on unless I'm leaving for a vacation or something. It's probably not good for it, but meh . . .

I turn it off when I'm out or going to bed. But most of the time, I'll be using it. I'm a sad computer freak with no life.

 

I always leave it on when I'm at home (even at night), or when I just go out to the store or something, but I turn it off when I go to work. I like it when I my email is already there when I get back on, I run SETI and Prime95, sometimes I run auto-traffic exchanges at night, and besides I spent almost all my time at home (except for when I sleep, obviously ) on the computer anyways.

I turn the monitor off when I go do something else for a longer time, to save energy and I've heard monitors are the greatest fire risk rather than the computer itself.

 

I dont turn it off unless Im not home for a couple days.

all the constant start-ups are hard on a computer, just like your vehicle.

Anyway, I turn off my computer every time I go to bed and turn it on when I wake up..............

I always turn mine off when im not using it, save wear and tear on my system,save on the electric bill. My cousin left his on all the time at my aunts hous and it ran up her electric bill about 30.00 a month. They are finding now to that if you turn it off when your not going to be using it for awhile it does save wear and tear on certain componates in your computer and your monitor. They will last longer if you turn them off when not in use for awhile, however if your going to be on and off it alot through the day then might as well keep it on.:sunglasse
