I was just getting you a link! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYaBSrnDNSs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXQIGRVkFRM&feature=related Two of my faves.
MC Solaar is a great artist from France that I occasionally listen to. I can only understand bits and pieces, but I appreciate it for his sound and flow.
Yeah I can really dig that Nesta There is a song I hear every now and then that they call... uhh... um... crap---no---uh---trap----no wait------RAP------yeah, I have no idea what they are saying... (just kidding----and no I don't listen to much rap) But I have been digging foreign music since I was a teenager. I have a CD I got at Barnes & Noble called Morroccan Spirit----it is fantastic. It was actually recorded here in the US. But the guy who made it went to Morrocco and tried to record traditional Berber music and I think even brought some Berber musicians here to record. it is enhanced with synthesizers and stuff. In truth it does not have as much Berber music as he claims---but it is all traditional Morroccan music----and a great CD. I have also collected instruments from around the world---a sitar, snake charmer's flute, Igorot nose flute, etc etc...
thats too bad. i know its not for everyone, but there is some cool rap out there if you dig around a bit :cheers2: actually i listen to a lot of rap, but nothing that they play on the radio or tv these days (that i'm aware of)
I also occaisionally listen to French music on XM-----I mainly want to hear those sexy French women sing!!! Anik Jean does a song called Thorazine----it sounds familiar but I don't know---anyone know that?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtBr5JKSuks It might be in english but I have no idea what they are saying
Actually I do appreciate some of the Rap music----especially one the old songs that I have no idea what it's called-----I don't really hate rap as much as I seem too---its just the music my kids listen too (Damn kids and their music!! ; ) But it is not something I could get into with one song after another. I tease my son---everytime he puts a rap song on XM, we have to listen to 1 song on the Bluegrass channel------he hates it (I pretend like I hate it too----but bluegrass does have that down to earth ethnic nature to it----I actually enjoy it.)
I can hardly play the nose flute---but you put it on the side of your nose and blow slowly out your nose---It comes from the Igorot mountain tribes of the Philippines. They can play some cool music on it.
bluegrass is awesome:cheers2: some old rap song, huh? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGaZ6_26vis 1979, first international hip hop hit i dont think this is the whole song though, its not long enough. the whole thing is like 15 minutes or something i think :sifone:
