I suppose it's pretty pointless. I guess I sometimes like to look at the time to know what stage of the trip I'm in. It can also be amusing when you realise what seemed like 2 hours was only 20 minutes.

On my first few trips I found it interesting but I remember on a particular mushroom trip when I was out camping I tried to look at the time on my digital clock radio and I couldn't even read it, it looked like some alien language.

I remember the first times when I was tripping, the VCR time was so creepy looking: LED light just leaving trails and trails .. and we had the cat swinging tail clock .. yo... This mother fucker would intensify a trip like you wouldnt believe.. lets go look at the clock.

I dont like people asking me what time it is. that annoys me.. But I pay attention to it, I dont believe in dates though . days I couldnt really care what day it is. Time is a different story.

I was sad the clock died.. really, I took that thing apart and tried to give it CPR.. it was no go.. :( They were becoming rare at the time. Now I believe you can buy them again.. someday I will look for one.

    some people hated that cat..

It was always fascinating at first that i could get what seemed like a whole days worth of fun into 30 minutes, we would come inside and just happen to glance at the clock and say "dude, what time is it, we were only out there 30 minutes? but did you see all those blades of grass man? no way it was only 30 minutes!"

But not so much anymore, time is pretty meaningless now when tripping.

That kitkat clock is awesome! i am getting one!

I sometimes like to check the time to see how long i have been tripping.

But then as I go deeper I often find time to be meaningless.. and end up questioning what it is haha.

i have a huge fear that checking the time and also engaging in capitalism (like..going to the store and buying a drink lol) when i'm tripping will bring me out of my trip..so no.

You need to trip at a concert that will help you rid of the 2nd fear!

lol i would probably stock up beforehand. I took mushrooms once and was about an hour into the trip when my friend and i decided to dip into a store and grab a drink. we both bought a drink and used the bathroom and by the time we walked out of the store neither of us were tripping anymore. it was probably just because the mushrooms sucked, but i've always blamed it on the fact that i spent money while tripping. so now i'm terrified that exchanging money at all will completely ruin everything. that was the most disapointing night of my life lol.

Yah I know what you are saying, outside of concerts I don't really care to be in stores buying stuff and around alot of commercialization. The one exception was on a mushroom trip when I walked into a bookstore. The main store was mildly interesting but when we reached the brightly lit childrens section like a wave of nostalgia and wonder hit me. It was amazing flipping through those books.

Well that's your problem right there. Clocks don't respond to CPR.

And I guess I sometimes like to keep track of time during a trip, but it's really hard to actually grasp the sense of measurement during it though. As someone said the feeling compared to the actual time passed is very distorted. I also have had the alien language experience thing with digital clocks. The numbers kind of just jump everywhere....

For a significant amount of time after some of my more intense trips I've had HPPD occurrences of that same visual distortion of numbers on digital clocks. Actually it still happens with certain digital atomic clocks. Very strange indeed.

if i look at digital clocks a certain way, like barely out of focus or if I move my gaze AROUND the display, the numbers sort of vibrate and dance around

On my only proper LSD experience so far I had no care at all for time. I was in such bliss that looking at the time would only have made me think about how much closer I was to the experience ending.

It really depends on how hard I'm tripping, though. If I'm breaking through/losing my ego on whatever substance I have no care for time. If I'm just tripping mildly I'll tend to look at the time and see if I'm going to end up tripping harder or not :p

now that sounds like some magical mushroom capitalism.

most of the time my synapses extoll the virtues of capitalism, but when under the influence of mushrooms they start leading the next wave of marxist revolutions.
