mine are still up! although my landlord is the one who put them up and is still turning them on, but i dont mind it.
I think our Christmas tree is still up...but that's just because it's at a friend's house and we haven't really been over to take it down and it's just been a nice decoration for him, lol.
last year we'd left ours up for a long time... but we just put up one little string of white LED's above our porch so we used that for lighting instead of leaving our porch light on all the time (cost less)
A lady on the end of our block still has her whole front yard done up for Christmas. There are some reindeer, an elf, a sleigh, and Santa all just chilling out on her front lawn in the middle of February. I mean, doesn't Mrs. Clause wonder where the hell her man is?
The fat man just got so massive that he just collapsed in on himself like a neutron star or black hole.
i just looked outside and he has them turned off, but they're still up there. I really love Christmas lights, I wish everyone would keep them on all year long, I dont know why. I guess cuz when I was little my parents would drive me around neighborhoods just to look at the lights at Christmas time and it was like my favorite thing ever.
when I saw this thread I thought of that country song "redneck woman" because she's all like, "I keep my Christmas lights on on my front porch all year long" and my mom sang it to me when she came over here the other day because they were still on. haha. why do hillbillies do it more than others?
I have x-mas lights strung all around my place for decorum. I'm not religious, it just can look pretty good. I have mine sorrounding this scroll. http://www.orientaloutpost.com/proddetail.php?prod=3sexyasian10 It looks great. It's worth like 60 I think? Excluding sheets, the rest of my furniture is from dumpster diving. My place looks great.
yeah, the people who do this are pretty lazy. which makes me wonder how they got off their ass to put them up in the first place.
my parents would drive us around to look at xmas lights as well, when we were kids. just imagine 5 boys in the car lookin at xmas lights.....
We do that with our kids. After dinner during the month of December, when it would be nice and dark out, every so often we'd pack them all up and go for a ride, just to look at the lights throughout the neighborhood. They love it. Heck, I love it too.
Hillbillies and rednecks are two totally different thing. I know this because I live in an area full of rednecks and I'm marrying into a family of hillbillies. Hillbillies are generally from...areas with hills...and mountains and whatnot (judging from the pictures on the wall in here from West Virginia...) and rednecks are just...wannabe cowboys and junk. Yep...just my observation.
