on judgement day ? and if we do "who judges us ? this is not pacificly a christian question " its a question for all religions ...... that is the question ........one god bless us all.
i don't beleive there is any force in the universe capable of judeing anyone. you can only truly judge yourself, based off of your moral beleifs.
Here is what I believe: First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
The 144,000 you are talking about is a Jewish remnant that will witness to the world during the time of the tribulation... it has nothing to do with Christians and the rapture. People before me did not understand the prophecies correctly... Did they not see that the Jews were not back in Israel but rather dispersed accross the world? Well, the Jews have recently returned back home from all over... and that is the most significant sign that Jesus return is near.
It's gonna happen when God gets good and ready for it to happen, not when you want it to, and not when you think it's going to.
Well, God's word says that you know not the day nor the hour, and it will come as a thief in the night. The Apostles even thought they were living in the last days-they were wrong. People have been thinking that for the last 2000 years-it's wishful thinking. Your world's gonna end when you die, which could even be tonight. That's all that ultimately matters anyway. All these people that are predicting that the world is gonna end, mark my word, are gonna be dead and gone one day, and the earth is gonna just keep on spinning around. Trust me.
we are judged every minute of every day by one who knows our every action and understands our every motivation. That judgment is weighed against the ideal and the truth of the world, and there we are judged, are we someone who deserves respect? You can hide from it, cowering in justifactions, doubting your very existence. But you cannot escape it. and when your end time comes and the meat of your life rots beneath the ground, where will you hide?
Day nor Hour.... Don't see generation in there... God has always given warning to his people before an impending judgment. "Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief."
You are the same type of person that laughed at Noah... until it rained Here God has set forth signs of his coming.... indications to give warning that His return is near.... and you don't care to bother to look or understand them only attempt to refute them... but hey, that's most of the world and only a handful will actually accept his light. A true Christian is a true non comformist... following the world is the true sheep.
You know, I think you're completely missing the point of what people like me are saying. Just because I (we) don't believe that the world's getting ready to end doesn't mean that I (we) are scoffing at God, or don't believe it's ever gonna end. You're really making a lot of wrong assumptions about what a lot of us believe. The point I made before is that what really matters is that everyone's going to die, and that's when MY world ends and I go to God-it really doesn't matter what happens to the whole friggin' world or WHEN it happens. And I'd also like to ask you something. Why is it that the really 'devout' 'Christians' like yourself spend all of your time in the Christianity forum trying to convert people? If someone has a problem, or wants to jump in the river and end it all, or has trouble with their marrriage, or they're victims of injustice, or whatever kinda problem they have, they don't get any advice or comfort from people like you, because you're always over in this forum trying to convert people all the time. What about the New Testament virtues of compassion and 'bearing one another's burdens', 'laughing with those who laugh and weeping with those who weep'-'blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice'? I get the impression that the only thing most Protestant Christians are concerned about, due to their 'salvation through faith alone' theology, is just converting people. What about helping them and showing them compassion, eh? What about that?
I could reverse the question to others on this forum... why do so many spend SO much time (way more than me) on the Christian forum... just to try to dismantle someone's religion? I am on here because I like my faith challenged and my views examined. You can agree that that does take place on here... especially when Christians our the minority. I coach three volleyball teams year-round... I would like to think I make a major impact on them.... I do not think I can make a major impact on the people on here... especially just through writing... although I do strive to. The Bible's views are just so far away from most of the people's on here. All in all, most people do not want to hear God's word. They think that it is cliche and that they already know all of it. Yet, I will be honest with you... I still have not fully comprehended the book, it is very complex... which shows light that God is very complex. Yet people hear JEsus died on the cross and then thet think they are experts on Christiainity.
You know, I don't believe that the whole thing is so complex, as you say. If you're talking about a book, maybe. But God isn't a book, and He isn't in a book. The Gospel message is really pretty simple, if you ask me-love others as God loves you, if you want to receive mercy you have to give it, give and you'll get back. I'm not on here to try and dismantle anything, and I can't speak for anyone else. I think Protestant Christianity places too much emphasis on a book (the bible) and not enough on WHO the book is about, and on the simple truths of the Gospel-that's the point I'd like to make. And it's true, sometimes people aren't so receptive to someone preaching to them-but when you put those virtues into practice of bearing their burdens, showing them compassion and trying to help them, you might get a lot farther with them than just preaching to them. I personally feel real strongly about that.
