Okay, so for as long as I can remember, I've had 'grainy' vision...basically, static across my entire field of vision, particularly when I look at plain surfaces. It looks like this:

I wear contact lenses and I often get 'floaters' and a random black dot in my vision as well.

Has anyone else experienced this and is there any way I can get rid of it? It's gotten much worse lately, particularly this morning.

No - but that's definitely not normal and sounds like it could be serious. Have you seen an ophthalmologist? Floaters, yes - and blurred occasionally - but those black spots and grainy - Somethings wrong. HOPE YOU CAN STRAIGHTEN THIS OUT.

Have you ever heared of HPPD? It comes from using psychedelics, and it causes people to have 'visual snow', so a sort of grainy vison. If you've never used any psychedelic thats unlikely to be it though, but with that picture its the first thing that comes to mind; I know quite a few people that have it.

Yea definitely. Totally not a problem. Unless you're a whiney scared little bitch. It doesn't mean you have psychosic OR bad vision. But maybe it does, it just would be different than the static I get, because I have quite decent vision. Me and my friends call it the digital field. It's perfectly normal last time I checked.

I also have a black dot in my vision at all time, since as long as I can remember. In fact, I spent many hours as a kid watching it move around my vision and trying to 'catch' it with my eyes...I can't stare directly at it because it will move away. It's in my left eye, I've noticed.

I've never asked a doctor about it because I rarely think about it and it doesn't really bother me, but your condition sounds a bit more bothersome. Good luck with trying to figure out what it is though...and keep us posted!

Do you stare at lights? Maybe you are just sensitive to bright lights, I get that too. From lights.

I see floaters and sometimes patches of static or tracers/double edges.... I think this has something to do with my weed/psychedelic intake, when I'm dry for a while it gets worse, then better. Or waves in intensity, without a change in color or pattern, like some places in my computer screen jump out as just more intense somehow.

Forgive my bluntness but NEVER FUCK AROUND WITH YOUR VISION. Maybe it's nothing - maybe it's something - GET IT CHECKED OUT! Can you imagine the world in total darkness all the time? Don't chance it. This isn't a temporary hallucinogen event. It's for as long as she can remember. We're talking about sight here - how the hell can you tell someone not to worry about it. JEEZZ!!

Yeah, get it checked out. It could be nothing, but at least it will put your mind at rest. A friend of mine had something similar and she was told that it was nothing to worry about. But yes, go see an optician.

    Thanks guys. :)

No, I've never taken psychadelics, I'm 14 and I figure that it's in my best interests not to fuck around with drugs till I'm at least a little older. :p

I went to see a doctor today and he said he didn't think it was anything to worry about but he hadn't heard of it before so he told me to go see my optician. It's been a lot worse today than it normally is and it's pretty bad right now so I'm gunna go see an optician ASAP.
