Does God care.? All the information about god says that what ever god is it is the ultimate power the ultimate knowledge. Eternal and infinite. That either everything happens is the will of god created by god or us humans have free will and all that happens on earth is a test for humans. And we will all meet on judgment day. Then most religious people especially Christians seem to put the whole idea of accepting god in your heart in other words believing in his existence and worshiping god. So I ask this question. If such a God exists infinitely powerful and knows everything that is going to happen. Then would such a god care weather one being believes in him. I asked this Cristian girl I recorded a CD for her Cristian group And I asked her if a child born in Africa or a country where the teachings of Jesus Christ had not made any real impact. If this kid say a Muslim kid who did not know of Jesus and still went about his life in a moral way not stealing not killing and just being a good generous person what would happen once this kid dies does he go to heaven or does he go somewhere else. And she told me point blank that although it was hard to comprehend the kid was going to hell. I knew then that I really wasn t due to take Jesus into my heart. I was going to give her a price break until that discussion for recording her CD but after that I charged her the normal ammount not that I exploited her but any body who preches stuff like that does not get any volontary work from me. My question remains if god is infinite truth, infinite power, eternal well would such a being be bothered by the fact that these bugs he created on earth might not believe in his existence.???
Why did that girl's answer make you think it was not about Jesus in your heart? Because she did not believe that only Christians go to heaven? I agree with her, because all religions are one, and all Gods are one. That doesn't contradict the teachings that Jesus should be in your heart.
I don't think it should really matter or not if you believe in god. Like you said with your example that good moral kid would go to hell while a person who kills, kills, kills and then suddenly asks forgivness from god before they die would go to heaven. It isn't justified. But that's only Christianity. If there truly is a god out there they'd be pure of heart and know that such an injustice is rediculous and wouldn't be so concieted on whoever loves/worships/believes in him/her or not.
Hello!!! Maybe I didn't get my message across to you. I am French from Quebec and so I must have not expressed myself well. The gorl...told me the african kid was going to hell because he did not have Jesus in his heart. SHe went on to tell me that she knew that would be difficult to understand givin that Jesus and Christianity is the embodiment of goodness and charity. But those who did not have Jesus in their heart well just too bad they go to hell.
I well end up in hell since all my friends well be there i sure as hell dont want be in heaven with a bunch of strangers.
Occam will no more go to hell than the elysian fields or valhalla. And neither will anyone else. To say 'you will go to hell' is no more than to say. 'you are a smart arse' But backed by 1500 years of idiocy...which carries no more weight than the dream of a graviton. Occam
there is no information about god. only information about what other human beings believe about god. this is like the difference between a cat and a picture of a cat, only more so. as it isn't even a real picture. =^^= .../\...
Maybe we dont have much information about GOD but there sure is a lot of communication about GOD. As far as hell is concerned I do beleive we experience hell while we are still alive and trying to come to grips with our conciousness and are f...ups.
you won't get any argument from me to the countrary of how i'm reading that. heavin and hell arn't places where you go but right were you are, wherever, whenever, and however you might happen to be, in this life or any other. although to find yourself totaly in either extreme is extremely improbable. =^^= .../\...
I dont knwo if there is a god or not. I think that just because we dont know how the world started etc, we had to make up a supierour presence, god , being.. that created us all ... YET we NEVER see him!!!
Let us say for the sake of this conversation that there is a GOD . That this god created everything exactly according to his will and everything that has ever happened is happening or will happen is exactly what he wants. Than would or could such a GOD care if we on earth or wherever that we worship him or her or it? Would he care if millions did not believe in his existence? Or weather or not his creatures blew earth to hell? Hey come check out my music video on my space. Papillon
Papillion.. If he so created everything.. then he created a universe the LOOKS LIKE IT EVOLVED. WHY? To decieve. WHy? This shows caring.. And is totally irrational at the same time. Why try to decieve and then give reason to to see the deception.? Occam believes reality first.. then human descriptions of god. For humans lie. The observered universe evolved. Stellar evolution is down pat. life evolutin has holes.. thats better than 'god made everything' which says nothing at all about reality. Occam
Let us say for the sake of conversation--there is no God. Ok. Let's. ........................................... Ok. Well, that about says it.
Do you think the discovery of life on other planets will put an end to the egocentric partnership with god?
the nature and origen of the devine are unobservable. what is reasonably surmisable from what can be observed is that whatever god or gods do exist, are unlikely to wish us any particular harm, simply because if they did, it would seem highly improbable on the face of it, that we would even exist, let alone be having this conversation. it's a big universe full of a lot more then two sparrows nuking each other. including orders of orders of magnitude of 'sparrows' NOT nuking each other. =^^= .../\...
i dont see why its hard to conceive a designer of the universe, i mean, such things like the intricate laws of gravity, physics, life itself, etc. doesnt merely happen by chance or accident. If it did, then something granted those random probabilities to function and exist. I'm not saying I beleive in a fat guy in the clouds with a beard, for personifying such a force is absurd. You at least have to agree that we were designed intelligently, even though this designer (god) might not have interaction with it, we still have a reality in which we can try and imagine such a being. I myself think it is absurd to deny a good because there is no proof. Look outside your window, there's your proof.
It'll definitely throw a wrench in the works, that's for sure... I imagine christianity would respond with it's typical delusions and claim that god made them too.
