It depends on your body chemistry and on the specific pill. Some pills have caused me to gain weight, others haven't. Same with boob size increase (but that went along with the weight gain, so maybe it was the increased weight, not the pill that caused that). Some pills are more likely to have certain side effects, but some women are more likely to experience certain side effects.
Although I am not a woman but I do have experience from what my wife takes. Yes, some pills make you fat. And one should try to find out which of the pills who are the least fattening and cancerous. My wife used to take Diane quite successfully. Now she's on something else I don't quite remember the name.
I was on a generic brand called Enpresse, but yeah, I gained about 10 pounds on it (10 pounds that I never shed, mind you, they're still all there), but the best thing was that most of the weight was gained in my breasts because I kept active during that time. It helped with my acne and I never got pregnant, but I can tell you, it certainly didn't help with my emotions. It flipped my world upside down and I was a mental nutcase for the small (two month) period I was taking them. I cried incessantly and the littlest thing would make me fly off the hook. I stopped as soon as I was finished with the second month, it just wasn't worth it.
I'm on Orthotricyclen. And the same thing happened. I've actually lost weight, though, through exercise and stuff, but my titties have gotten bigger. I'm not even going to start on how terrifyingly overemotional I got.
I'm on Marvelon which is supposed to help not gain weight, not get acne or depression. It has worled so far and i have had no side effects at all with regards to the aforemention or headaches, bleeding or any change in my nature like being over emotional. Nothing has changed.
I was on the patch for awhile and didn't notice much difference, but when I stopped using it I did lose weight but that may have just been coincidence. birth control medications, the pill or patch or shot or whatever, are all pretty sketchy in general and I'd advise not using them!
Yeah well, they are the most viable options available at present. If something better comes along I'll switch from the pill to that. In the meantime I'll stick to popping that little sucker every day.
I gained around 25 lbs. A month after i had my son i weighed 130 as soon as i went on the deppo i gained 25 lbs i stopped taking the deppo shot a month ago and woking out every day and so far i have gained three pounds in one week. it is so frustrating.
most of the time ur boobs will grow.... and depending on your body chemistry then you will lose or gain weight, most of the time women gain weight. so be careful and as soon as u see that u're going up stop the pills cause then there's no way back :S
Actually it's not most of the time, it depends on the pill. I don't know one person who has gained weight from the pill, me included and my boobs have not grown. Ask your doctor to go through this book he/she has on all the types of pill that exist. Some are designed to stop weight gain, depression, acne etc. You can basically design one but although there are some side effects, there is no guarantee that this will happen. If you try one type of pill, you might see the effects quite soon and can stop before any damage is done.
It does make you gain weight, but if you start smoking, you'll lose weight, so it'll pan out. Besides, you'll look cooler as well.
Ignore him! It doesn't always make you fat, depends on the pill content and thee are numerous varieties. I had no side effects whatsoever. Take up smoking to lose weight? God you'd be a great councellor with that advice. Hey, lose weight and gain cancer
my boobs got a lot bigger and it seemed to me that i lost my appetite a little i got really moody though it was like constant PMS
This may seem silly of me but it's also natural for women to add some weight at the end of puberty, as they head int adulthood. When do most women start using the pill?
The pill may result in weight gain and increased breast size, but not as much as a baby will. Just something to keep in mind To be honest, if there was a male version of the pill and it meant an increase of 10 - 15 pounds, I'd still take it. I have zero desire to have children with anyone whom I have any uncertainties about whether we'll spend the rest of our lives together.
