Well Growing up I've Never Much Cared About Money...There was Never Much of It Around...

Since Leaving Home...And Earning my Own...Situation Seems Worse...
Maybe I Should Get a Room Buddy...Or maybe Another Job...That Pays the Atual Minimum Wage Rather than Less...

However...I'm Happy With the Little Things in my Life...

I may Not Afford to be Able to Go Out Anywhere...Never Hit the Town with Friends...Even Purchase Clothes Reguarly...

I'm Not Envious of Those Who Have more Than me...

    But Does Money Buy Happiness?

I Don't See How I Could be Any Happier with more Money...

Money Leads to Greed...People Kill...Die For Money...

    It Just Seems so Wrong...

money doesn't buy happiness but I'm with you. I like nicer things. I was shocked when I moved out and found out I couldn't go to trader joes and whole foods and buy a handbag to match all my shoes...i hated it. I ended up moving back home. i really like clothes and looking nice ie-hair, gym membershiop, tanning, clothes, collagen pedicures...I'd say half my income goes towards my looks and health food/supplements.
If I moved out well I just would miss my sprulina smoothie with powdered greens and carrot juice I have everyday and my pedicures and my health spa and yeah...
I'm not greedy even when I had a ttrust fund I spent the same as I do now. I would never spend more than I do now and don't have a desire for what most of my friends have.
I would say get a roomate...then you have somone to split the bills, the alchohol and the whole foods bill with.
Having enough to live off comftrabley is nice I would never want to be rich but I would also never want to be poor.

well, if you're happy and wanna have a good time, i think my SIL's houseboat is a pretty good purchase. however, if you have to buy things on credit, then, no. it sucks. there's plenty of cheaper routes, like camping (but only if you have a way to get the stuff you need). if feeding people makes you happy, you gotta have money to buy food. it may not buy true joy, but it sure helps a bit. not having any money at all is pretty depressing if you've got little mouths to feed and all you have is ramen.

how much are house boats? can you take out a mortgage for one? do you have to pay for a speace rent? that would be awesome. I was talking with my mom and I am thinking something like a cabin an hour or two away instead somewhere I can go and be alone whenever i want but still live at home and have an investment.

At the Moment I Have 2 Jobs...

Out of Which Almost Half of my Pay Goes on Rent For my Flat...

And the Rest Gets me by Until the Next Week...

But I Do Try and Spend Money Wisely...Sure is Expensive Living in Society...

Or Just Living Even...And Supporting Ones Self...

I feel ya I work one full time job, one as a contracted speaker, go to school almost full-time and freelance as a writer and behavioralist. I am out of the house from 7am-11pm most days. I love my line of work or else I would work less and cut back on my lifestyle and I love to be busy.

I had an interview the other day and if i get the job the salray combined with my speaking contract and freelance work will be up there with what my mom makes as an engineer at 48 years aold and I get a car allowance too so i just feel very blessed. I do not know anyone my age who is as far along in the world of non-profits as i am or anyone under 30 who makes as much as I do working in social services. if I were to go private i could easily make over 6 figures but I would also be selling my soul and like my eggs ( ;) ) my soul is not for sale. I have very little respect for people who are so focused on money and work in the pro profit industry. It has been a huge clash for me with men I have dated int he past. I pray to god that my bf chooses the non-profit route when he finishes school as he is so kind hearted and briliiant and could make such a difference in the world. I would love to spend my life with somone who shared my ambition in making this world a bietter place. he already does over the summer with what he does so I hope he still wants to stay in that line of work. But with his major he could do almost anything so I really envy how smart and gifted and well rounded he is.

    Well That's Super...

But That Does Sound Like Long Hours You Do...

I'm Also at College Full Time...Which Limits the Number of Hours I Work...

The meds I'm on Keep me kinda Doped up...

Almost Got 3rd Job Last Month...Then I Realized I Would Have No Time For Studying at All...And Decided I Don't Need Money That Bad...

I Never Understand People Who Put Money Above All...

Hope Your bf Chooses the Non-Profit Route...If That makes you Happy...

well, they're pretty expensive. my MIL bought a crappy one and fixed it up. my SIL bought it from her for 9k. you have to pay for bouy-line space or docking fees. those can ge pretty expensive. if you don't want the maintenance and rents, i'd rent one for those times you wanna party with some friends. if you have a space on the bouy line, you have to have a boat to get to it. but if you're into lake parties, it's totally the way to go. take the houseboat out, find a place to tie off, party your ass off. good good times.

It doesn't buy happiness, but it doesn't exclude it either.

lynsey, why do you write so goddamn much whenever you post. there could be a thread that asks what is your favorite color and you would go off on a 9 page report. no one is impressed and no one cares if you are not trying to impress. you were never taught the k.i.s.s. thing or do you post so much to make up for other areas in which you lack, like a soul. one of the most self centered people here. congrats

thank you and thanks for not having the balls to say who you are ie-creating an alias. This is my outlet. I type what I think it's more for my reflection rather than for others to read. My thoughts are so consuming and active that I need to organizie them and this is the way I do it and I do have only child-syndrome.

hmm you think I'm lacking a soul lol...that's gonna be really funny for anyone who truley know me on here

    No Problem...

I Bet this Person Secretly Likes you Really...And is Just Trying to Grab Your Attention...

    I Could be Wrong...

But It's Happened to me in Past...

Then Again...There's Alot of People From the Forums Who I Talk to Now...Who Actualy Confessed that They Once Hated me...And Would Often Attempt to Critize me...Or Cause Arguments...

I Would Either Ignore Them...Or Go Private...As in pm Them...Which is What I Usualy Do Now if I Find Someones Post Slightly Offending...And Personal...

I want a place to live part time in san diego harbor where I can go if things get too much at home but not move out completley. My grandfather sails as do a few of my friends but I do not although I have always wanted to learn.

I do not want anyone partaying on anything I won. I never had parties of more than 10 close friends when I lived alone-ie people who would help me clean up keep the noise down.
