Does the new sticky give RT Carte Blanche?

How do you interpret the new sticky?

Because, honestly, I think I'm reading it differently than a lot of you are. and I am curious to see how many people believe it gives carte blanche (you may or may not need to google that)

 

I never seem to notice the sticky's.

I guess I'll have to get my gun every time I come to RT

 

you may or may not need to google every single subject that is posted here. it kind of goes without saying. different people know different things.

i'm assuming you mean skip's sticky, since the newest one just deals with image size and is completely straightforward as far as i can tell.

as far as skip's sticky, no that's not how i interpret it at all. i think he's just sick of noobs and idiots who wandered in from the dready forum sending him tons of emails saying "oh boo hoo, i thought this was a hippie website and not everyone on it poops rainbows like i expected." but i don't think anything has changed as far as enforcing forum guidelines since said sticky.

The sticky just says pissing and moaning about this forum and its contents will be ignored. If this place doesn't appeal to you, leave it alone.

 

No, you can't do whatever you want. You can however be open about your opinions. Speak your mind without worrying about somebody getting butt hurt over yoru opinion of them or their opinion.

BUT I'm guessing:

You still can't spam.

You still can't post kiddie porn.

You still can't have oversize images, and you can't harass people to the point where you're just following them into every thread they post in and starting shit for no reason.

You probably can't carry on in their VM and stuff either.

i think it is being interpreted by most that is indeed a carte blanche, I on the other hand believe that the sticky is nothing more than enough rope to hang ourselves with as it's getting harder and harder to govern this area for the mods....as mentioned in the intelligence thread it appears to be a clever rouse to let us kill eachother off to minimize the carnage when the wrath comes down.

i really have no idea though, and am not going to test any theories...i'll carry on with usual business and hope that people can be mature enough to do the same.

 

I disagree with this part. I think they are no longer off limits. I think if it's mutual attacking you're covered, but if it turns into one sided harassment that spills over into threads that had nothing to do with the original argument, you ahve a problem.

Unless of course the next thread has another argument and your bickering becomes a part of that argument.

But in the end, we'll know the answer when somebody disappears...IF they disappear...

 

It's not getting hard(er) to mod this place at all, IMO. I know for a fact Stinkfoot has had offers for help, and as you see there is no new mod...

Of all the shit I said last week, my "Would you fuck me?" thread was the ONLY ONE DELETED(that I noticed)..... due to me posting with two names in one thread which was an honest mistake....

Soak that up and think about it for a minute...

yes he has had offers for help, but from whom? most of us are not unbiased enough to be trusted with that responsibility, and the ones who are, arent around enough to be effective.

edit: also i've noticed many threads deleted, one was just deleted a few minutes ago...just because it's not announced doesnt mean its not happening.

I beg to differ. You could have a limited mod who can delete oversized pictures(fact basis, not an opinion thing), delete things that are obviously inappropriate(n-bombs, etc) without giving them the freedom to just delete whatever the fuck they please.... If they go haywire, remove those abilities ASAP.... It's not a complicated process. The point is, they dont' want the extra help.

I still disagree with the top. The bottom I agree with and I think I made that fairly evident with talk of spam and harassment...

My threads was my topic... Not others. Of all the bullshit that was said attacking back and forth, those threads still stand while a harmless thread was deleted..
