When you are really good friends with someone on HF that also is great friends with someone you can't stand?

Makes me want to re-evaluate why I wouldn't like someone that the person I like likes.

Or I could take the easy route and hate both of them even though one of them likes me and the other maybe doesn't but maybe they do.

I think I will just start liking everyone.

Maybe it's the lack of sleep talking but I LOVE you all!!!!

    :p

Maybe you spend too much time online.
I advise you to get a real life.

I have no problem when I like someone as a friend but don't like their friend(s), whether it's onine or in every day life. It actually seems to be quite common for me.

This has been occuring in my HF life as well. I am thinking maybe the "friends" may know eachother better since I am still quite new and I should actaully think about why I am "friends" with the particular "friend".

I try to be nice but people still fight all around the forums, now what do you do about THAT?

i've yet to find two friends that can stand being in the room together. most times they manage a chilly civility for my sake, but that's all i'll get out of them. i tend to be drawn towards very strong personalities, and they tend to clash, mainly because they're so alike in the bad ways. i tend to see the better sides of people than they see in themselves, and i try to bring that out. usually works very well and i end up with strong, lively, opinionated and ultimately good people as my friends. one could wish i would be able to see them all at the same time, but i don't think that's gonna happen, except maybe at my funeral.

Hacker this doesn't have to be a difficult situation, just tell your friend that you really don't get on with the person, so it best to keep subjects involuing them to a minium. it doesn't have to have any reflection on you and your friend.
when its happened to me, I say, although I don't like the person, I would never dictate that you should dislike them too.
however at your birthday party I wanna bigger piece of cake than them!!

Well, I don't have this problem, I just perceived someone having this problem so I thought a post would be appropriate. Funny you should mention birthday cake, because I had a family thrown birthday party complete with ice cream cake just yesterday!

So who don't you like? People have many sides and like to show their favourite side... you can like a side of someone (meaning you think you like them) but they might like a side of someone else that you hate (trippy)

Why do you say that? Why do people you like have to hate those that you don't like?

it causes conflict. i've been chased down and jumped for that a few times. just because i was hanging out with club kids more. i hung out with 2 groups of people. group A and group B, both groups didn't like each other, but i hung out with both. group A didn't like that, so they chased me down and jumped me for it. so i said fuck them and more importantly i told my best friends to fuck off for jumping me, so i started hanging out with group B exclusively and then we started to beat the shit out of group A.

i could go on and on with examples of why it creates conflict...

I only have two real friends in the world - but I feel lucky for that - and they live so far apart they never clash.

I did find myself replying to someones post in somebody elses thread though the other day and was kindly asked not to reply to someone in someone elses thread...

personally I couldn't be bothered with all the complication, unless they actually came round and started banging on my window or something when I'm asleep - then I'd have to get nnnnnnasty
