Yeah, there's a lot of slefish pricks out there.

Anyway, how often do you donate blood?

The regulation is 2 months for adults and 3 months for those under 20.

I donate blood twice a year.

At my last donation 5 days ago, there was like nobody there and the nurse said only 15 people had come in, bastards.

a social organization of which i'm a member, usually has an annual blood drive. i donate blood at that time each year.

years ago when i was a poor college student, i donated blood and sold plasma on a regular basis.

despite the fact that I'm terrified of needles I would donate blood if I could... before I didn't weigh enough to do it and now they won't take my blood b/c of the meds I'm on

I've never donated because when you are a pilot you can't. Even though I haven't flown in a couple decades I still use it as my excuse.

I really oppose the fact that the American Red Cross whines and belly aches about blood shortages and yet systematically refuses to accept donations from homosexuals. It is an offense (since blood can be screened for antibodies) that these people also get blacklisted from ever donating anywhere.

I did a while back but I fainted and I've been a little nervous to do it again. I have a heart problem and I'm not really sure if it's ok.

I guess you will say "I suck" to.
I have donated blood in the past, but will never do it again.
I will also never recieve blood. There are a few indications in the bible that says that God does not approve of blood being transferred from one person to another. So, automatically I am going to side with God and not do it. In this day of modern technology with the advent of synthetic blood there is virtually no reason to use blood from another human being. The hospitals give transfusions even when not needed to make the bill larger, charging over $500 for 1 pint of blood.

    :hurray: Ha..that was funny.

Anywho...I only turned the right age this year so I've only given twice...it's kinda fun if you do it with friends, you can just sit around and talk until it's time and then usually you find a reason to laugh at eachother...good times and you're doing something positive too.

I do think more people should do it more often...however, I don't think that anyone should be lying in order to do it. As to the homosexual thing, keep it here: http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=220259&f=473 No need to bring it into this thread...

I'm told that because my grandmother died of a very rare brain disease I can't give blood :( I have always wanted to, especially because I have a rare blood type, type AB positive, might help some people.

I need to find out if i really can't though. If I can then I will.

    I've tried many times.

First time- I didn't have enough iron
Second time- Wouldn't take my blood because I was taking a pill to get more iron in my blood.
Third time- On a new med
    Fourth time- New piercing
    Fifth time- New med

    I give up

I don't understand this low iron thing...I mean, girls don't have as much iron as guys right, but why is it so difficult for some people to get? I mean, I'm a vegetarian, yet my iron level has always been great:confused:
