I was wondering how the director's cut of Donnie Darko would be different from the orginial, and if it was worth picking up

The Director's cut has 15 minutes of added footage. And it's not just a couple of 5 minute deleted scenes..
It's small bits and pieces that had been deleted from several scenes.
The added footage helps the movie make more sense.
There's lots of extras as well and some added music that wasn't available for legal reasons (they couldnt get the rights in time)

It's worth picking up if you were really into the movie to start with.
For people who didn't like it or didnt understand it, I doubt it will change their minds.

Yeah, get the director's cut! The cut footage really helps explain the movie. Alternatively, the movie's website gives alot of clues, but its still way better to watch the movie.

You're obviously one of those that didn't understand it then.

The director's cut clarifies a lot of loose ends. See it.

The fact that it's actually a guy in a sodding costume makes it less crazy.

Then you didn't get it.. That's not meant as an insult, but if that's all Frank the Rabbit meant in relation to the movies storyline, then you did not get it.
Look, take any movie ever made and some people will like it and some won't.
And some movies people don't have any feeling about one way of the other.
Darko is one where I've yet to meet anyone who was neutral about it.
You either got it or you didn't. If you got it you liked it. If you didn't you hated it.
That was my point about the director's cut.. it won't make people who hated it not hate it. But it will make people who liked it, like it more.

Um.....now that you mentioned the Butterfly Effect hehe....Is it worth watching? I only started it but then I had to take care of some stuff. Seemed alright. Thoughts?

i just saw the director's cut of Donnie Darko. It does help clarify a lot of the original. I like the director's cut best. My boyfriend on the other hand thought the original was better.
