Ugh. I cannot get rid of the dandruff on my scalp. I've been scrubbing my scalp as diligently as I feel comfortable with (so I don't scrub the shit out of my dreadlettes), and it won't go away. I don't wash my hair too often (I never have), but dandruff has never been a huge problem for me. Is tea-tree oil supposed to help dandruff, or does it help frizz? Either way I could use some, but I wanted to know how it should be diluted. In the "ethnic hair care" section of the store I work at, we sell tiny little bottles of tea tree oil, so I imagine it has to be diluted first? Other than that, however, my roots have finally started to knot up! The ends are still kind of curly and un-dread like, but if you feel them you can tell that they're getting tighter and knotting up more by the day. I've quit messing with them (other than moving the beads around a little bit), and I am very happy with how they're turning out. And also, when it comes to separating, my dreads don't behave too well. They sort of come together at the roots, and when I pull them apart it seems like they're still coming together a bit very close to my scalp. I figure this is fine, but I don't want one huge dread in the back of my head, so should I just continue to pull them apart? Is that going to "ruin" them at all? Thanks!
Separating won't ruin them no. Tea tree oil is good for dandruff I use it myself or I will have way too much. You dont need to dilute it you need to use very little it's the trick, last time I've tried to put a couple drops in a gallon or two of water and lay my head into that it was way too much. What I do now is when I wash them I open the little bottle and put my finger to block the opening and just put a little bit on the tip of my finger and apply on my scalp where I want and rinse shortly after. It helped my dandruff but I got some flakes now... anyway.
Teatree keeps my dandruff away. And I've always had a problem with it. Look for the recipe on here for the deep cleansing solution its awesome keeps the dreadies nice and clean.:cheers2:
use any citrus fruits(especially the juicy ones such as calomondon, lime, lemon). apply it then leave it there until its dry then rinse shortly. there there.
