What's your dream car? And I don't mean, "Uh...probably a '67 Mustang". I mean like, "'67 Mustang, convertible. Candy red paint and gloss black interior". If you had unlimited funds to build or buy your complete dream car, what would it do? What would it look like?
First, it'd make the Jetsons sound. Second, there would be enough damned doors so I wouldn't have to climb over anything to strap children in. Third, well, there is no number three. Number two is all I really care about.
Maybe one of the Lasalle from the 1930s. Beautiful cars. The little cars Suzuki made in the 80s and 90s were kinda neat, such as the X90. I'd like to have one of those just for fun. .
Somethingy glossy red, banana yellow, or cream, with a top that goes down, big shiny rims, an impressive grill. Sporty.
That's my dream car. Owned one for a while, though I never got the opportunity to do it up the way I wanted. Was going to go with stock rims instead of the ones in the picture and have the dual pipes run along the side hot rod style. When I get another one I'm going to gut the interior and do all the carpeting in red with white seats and dash/center runner. Probably will do red scallops down the side of the exterior and on the hood as well.
My dream car is the car I build from a pile of nothing to a finely engineered example of automotive perfection... Only to be topped by the next project... whatever any of the above may be
I have my dream car....she's just a rust bucket at the moment. *edit* I own a '65 ford mustang. I want to paint it charcoal gray. It has all black interior with pony detailing.
I love looking at those little cars but I could never feel safe in one. Needs four handles on the sides so when somebody hits it the paul bearers can just pick it up and carry it to the grave.
Barring an out of your control incident, a small car is MUCH safer to drive... MUCH less chance of a rollover, and MUCH easier to manuever out of a bad situation... in fact, beyond carrying stuff and ramming into smaller cars there is no benefit to a larger car. Consider your fellow motorist... the bigger car may be safer for *you*, but its not safer for *me*... every vehicle has its place... but there is no reason to have a 4000lb + vehicle on the road to haul around... yourself...
My uncle has a car just like that. Was originally going to build it himself but got impatient and paid somebody to do it. Just like everything he does.
I drive a 71 westfalia if I get in a head on in that thing, crunch like a tin can, there is about 10 inches from me and windshield. I did install new safety belts though, and the thing is made out of solid metal.
but who would hit such an awesome car... if anything it should get enough attention to, well, be noticed. Safety, though, is definitely not a highpoint of that vehicle!
