It's tough enough in this world with just a high school diploma, let alone without one. It's free, finish school.
school is such a bitch and i hate it. The only thing that keeps me from droppin out is my parents and not wanting to have to stress about money in the future. Think about it man, if you drop out all the money you could be spending on bud is going to have to go to pay for rent, food, bills, taxes, etc... and you wont have any money left for any of the shit that you want, not shit that you need... that just the way i look at it anyway
yea dude you're 17 which prolly means you only have a year left, just get it done or you'll regret it later, besides highschool isnt that bad, the real world sucks much more.
Actually... I dropped out after someone was stabbed. I'm alot happier... Generally, it takes certain type of people to do it sucessfully... though, generally, alot of people will admit defeat and never go back to school. Then again, I seem to come across alot of entrepreneurial minds. I also seem to come across alot of people who have ego problems and are apathetical... I didn't even show up but for one GED class and the lowest score I had was a 713 in one of the maths, out of 800. I think average is around 500. I'm either helping someone get a business running or going straight into a community college as an interim thing and getting transferred. I've struggled between going into something environmentally conscious or something musically/production related... and then I've got the side in me (could it be me being a capricorn) that says "Business administration", even though my soul doesn't want that. Generally, I believe in taking what I'm given, but this administration in my county is getting ridiculous in the notion that they really couldn't give less of a flying fuck, 90 percent of the time. The schools are overcrowded (oh wait, there's only one high school in my county of 40,000) and they're using loopholes to build subdivisions on property that was supposed to be for a new high school. It got to the point where three out of the four administration positions at the school were being dealt out like a deck of cards to the point where my seventh grade civics teacher has become principal and my assistant principal became an teacher at the middle school I used to go to. Then I had my guidance counselor threaten to flick me between my eyes when I asked for a schedule change (I wasn't in this country when they issued schedules and the change period was up) So, why should I care about those pricks. All they're doing is pushing people through in hopes that nobody will say anything, then when you bring it up, they suddenly admit defeat and say it's a shitty environment. I find it attention-grabbing that the administration of our country tends to play it off in the same manner. Virginia is the 12th richest state... I guess Jersey is still holding number 1... Mississippi/Louisiana/West Virginia, etc. along the bottom. There is no reason for us to be in the 30s as far as our education system ranks.
i dropped out at age 17 got a construction job making about 14 bucks an hour and traveled with everything paid for. then i moved to florida and tried to enroll back in school ended up getting pregnant at 18 and only went to school for a month when i said i cant deal with the high school bullshit drama and seeing all the fucking rizty as skinny bitches so i dropped out and studied to get my ged took the test and finally have the diploma after 2 years.
Oh yeah, and Lou Dobbs ought to be head the department of education if it stays subsidized and our country feels like it's going to get off the couch and accept the responsibility of an overhaul that has been needed since the end of the industrial revolution. And... I suppose Michigan is up first with all the auto manufacturing snafus.
This one, you have to get the little ball through all the obstacles by only using the little control levers at the bottom. Crazy as fuck when you're high.
lmao... I love messing with stuff after/when I'm smoking. Nothing like getting baked and doing some brazing and installing some thermostats/hygrometers... I could do it all day long.
ya you dont want your parents who has done everything in thier power to give you a life/support that they believe you deserve to think you are a drop out who will amount to nothing. Im not saying that will happen, but unless you can 100% prove them wrong, dont fucking drop out.
i don't know why people call high school "education" its certainly not, at least at the number of schools iv been to. i don't need to be babysat and have my time wasted. drop out, get your GED, and start college early to get a real education!.... thats what i did.
Yeah, over here anyway, the emphasis in school is less on getting a rounded education and more on memorising all the facts and figures so we can regurgitate them in an exam at the end of our final year and that's it. We get fuck all subject choice, too. I was reading an article in the newspaper a while ago where our Taoiseach (kind of a Prime Minister) was quoted saying that there was huge debate in the department of education about whether this was a good method of schooling or not, but nothing is really being done about it. A common teacher comment would be: "You don't need to understand it, you just need to memorise it." I'm not even joking. That said, I don't really see any alternative. I don't think we have any equivalent of the GED here. So I'm just sticking it out, because it'll be impossible to work if I haven't even graduated secondary school. Dropping out and not even taking an alternative is a pretty bad idea. I only have a couple of months to go myself, and then it's college, which will hopefully be more interesting. To be honest, the only significant effect school has ever had on my mind is that it makes me depressed. And I say this as what the administration would consider a "good student"... basically meaning I have a good memory.
