Hey...I've been experiencing some dandruff and a dry scalp in the last week. I've been using only Bronner's soap as my shampoo. I've heard that it's ok to use Burt's Bee's "feelin' flaky" shampoo with dreads once in awhile. I did buy a little Jojoba oil today, too. Any tips?
um i had major bad dandruff, and waht fixed mine was tea tree oil. And deep washing it like every two days. Three is ok but once oyu get to the fourth day though my hair flakes like crazy. whoops get aloe and rub it into your scalp as well
dr. bronners is extremely drying - dandruff is definitely a sensible outcome for washing with something like that. i would not use it too often - just sometimes. for dandruff make a concotion of mostly water, with tea tree (few drops), jojoba oil (few drops) and peppermint extract if you've got it or some nice essential oils. pour it on your just washed head. but really - i can't imagine washing with only dr. bronners. i think it's more meant for the body; i used it on my head when it was beginning to dread, but definitely not anymore, just keep it for my body.
Try watering down the Dr. Bronners. During the winter days your scalp does tend to dry out and Dr. Bronners sometimes dries scalps out. You could put vitamin E on your scalp too.
