so i have a question.. why do they swipe your id everytime you buy dxm?? & what could the possible consequences of this be?? (lets say if you bought 4 bottles at once or something) oh yeah, & does ne one know where you can buy a dxm product w/o being ID'd or hassled? (in california) i bought mine at target & they checked/swiped my id.. i just figured that if i'm gunna be doing it once in a while i should find a better place to buy.

    thanks for the help all

Well since ur an adult i dont really see why this is a problem with you, but what i do is i go to shoppers, and right next to the pharmacy they have a couple isles with medicines. In one of these theyll sell dxm products (robotussin, vicks, sucrets), and i take however much i need and i bring it to the front checkout, and the people there dont even know about dxm

i mean, does it get recorded in a database everytime to buy a dxm product or something? and if it is something like this what is the consequence? OR is this just a method to keep under-age people from purchasing this?

its just away from keeping kids to get it, theres no data base of dxm fiends. how ever i imagine u could avoid this altogether by goin to mom and pop stores. around here maybe 1 in 20 people will ask for an id

i live in nevada, and i never get carded for my DXM at the local Sav-On. they probably don't even know about DXM because they don't look at me weird or anything. got an 8oz tonight no questions asked. california has some jacked up laws though, my friend says if you have weed on you, they will just give you a ticket and you don't have to go to jail.

I just buy it at my local jewel which has a self-checkout machine. Check if they have them at any jewels by you.

haha this is kind of funny. when i did dxm this weekend, i went to rite aid and bought some zicam. i had my id ready and everything (im 20). when i got to the counter, the girl just asked me my birthdate. i didnt have to show her id or anything. i thought that was a little odd since if i were 17 i could have lied to make it seem i was 18 or older

I got ID'd when trying to buy the dextro today.

As soon as the cashier at the CVS scanned it, it prints out a small receipt before actually charging for it that says "Stop Teen Abuse of Cough Medicine" and asks for ID. Im 20 so I got it no problem, but it was pretty funny cuz I didnt expect to get card'ed for freakin cough syrup.
