so the post that was recently up about how girls shouldnt be sucked into going for the ultra skinny look because its not attractive, i loved reading it.

    BUT.

ive fallen victim to truly and honestly beleiveing that looking that way is the only way i can be happy. for about 3 years now, ive not been able to keep my mind off what im (not) eating.

i dont flaunt it, im a bit nervouse even talking about it on here, but id really like to know if there are other people who are atleased a bit like this.

other comments and all are welcome also, but please, give me your honesty- not sympathy. :H

Do you love someone because of how they look? No, you love someone for who they are.
Don't just think of your self as a body, think of yourself as a soul.
The only thing that I think anybody should be concerned about, rather than overeating, is eating correctly. Eating grains, fruits and all that other good stuff.

I, myself, have never had this problem but I know of many girls who have.
I guess the only thing that I would have to say is who cares what others think of you! YOU are YOU!!!! - Weather you are short, tall, big, small - you will always be you! so start learning to be happy about what you were given instead of what you think you have to look like. May I ask who you are trying to impress? Is it someone else or yourself? You don't have to look a certain way inorder to be happy! Happiness comes from within.
Good Luck and try to start living your life for YOU not for others!

I feel that way a lot of the time.
I've been the same weight for about two years now (i gain a pound, lose a pound every now and then) but sometimes I feel like I'm getting monstrously huge. It's only when I'm by myself though, because when I'm with others I can see that in reality, I'm much smaller than everyone else.
I'm really glad that we don't have a scale in our house because I'd be weighing myself everytime I go into the bathroom and I'm pretty sure it would lead to some sort of eating disorder. Every time I'm at a friends who has a scale I'll weigh myself about 5 times while I'm there.

I was anorexic and was hospitalized when I was about 13 and I don't wish that upon anyone. I think its about where you put your focus. Im very focused on food as well because Im a vegetarian (trying for vegan) but I put all of my focus on what I can eat that will improve my health. When you eat WELL (quality and quanity) then you feel happy, you glow and have nice skin and wanna inhale the love of life all the time.
Just try and nip this in the bud before it gets out of hand because its a very dark, sad and lonely and UNHEALTHY road to go down. I say try and find somewhere eles to put your focus. Besides, do you really want people in your life who only care about how you look?
Love yourself...your soul, your body and take care of it.... its your LIFE!

I admit I do not know much about anorexia and/or bulemia. But I have several friends who have this condition.

The biggest reason that each of my friends suffers through this condition is because of their mindset.

Nobody who is anorexic can just *snap* change like that. It takes a lot of difficult introspection, and it takes a lot of analyzing your own mind. If you try hard enough and look deep enough within yourself, you will eventually be able to figure out what mental process and thoughts you have that push you in the direction that you are going.

Once you know what it is ... you can change it.

Nobody can do this for you.

But there are people who can help you in doing it. As the saying goes, they can only open the door; you must walk through.

There are specialists which do eating disorder-related psychology. I have heard that few of them are very good, but if you don't feel that you can change your mindset yourself, you ought to look to them for a little guidance. =)

Nobody is helping by saying "it's sooo unhealthy!!" or "you need to change now!!" or "you can do it!!" It's not that simple, and I bet that you know it.

The only thing one can do to help is to illuminate the path for you. But as I said before, you are the only one who can walk it.

Best of luck, balance, and harmony to you.

P.S. Vegans are the shit! ^_^ You should look into veganism a bit too, methinks!
