I need some help about EFC codes...Is it lower the Code more help or vice versa? I know it varies from school to school but I got a 00035...I read some where that lower the number is usely better. Anyone else got a EFC code around the same number? If so how much Finacal Aid did you get?

The EFC is the estimated family contribution... So the lower that number is, the more financial aid you are eligible to receive. My EFC was 0, so I got the full pell grant plus the max amount of loans allowed in each year of undergrad. I don't know how a 35 will affect your offers.

Keep in mind, your aid package will also be determined by your school's estimated cost of attendance (basically tuition plus what it would cost to live in the dorms and get a meal plan, which is often not a realistic estimate of your expenses if you choose to live off-campus as I did). They look at the cost of attendance, subtract your EFC, then offer you the difference in aid (though there is a max allowable pell grant and max loans allowed each year, so you'd still need lots of scholarships to go to a $30K/year school even if you had an EFC of 0).

So, just knowing a that a person's EFC was the same as yours doesn't mean you'll get the same amount. My suggestion would be to contact your school's financial aid office.
