alright what do you use? i have always shaved with a electric because i cant stand shaving cream. somethin about it gets to me. that and my face seems to always itch a LOT more. i guess it depends how your facial hair grows?

    opinions?

well I used to go back and forth with the next generation quad, or multi bladed razors.
even with some of the one that are electric and can get wet Ive tried, the razors I use the most and currently are Gillette Fusion, but Ive been a big fan of their doudle edge razor all my life.. The Fusion is a fast blade and cuts shaving time down by many minutes for me, it cleans well, and I dont mind paying money for quality in the razor that last and does a good job. And I use a gel for the cut, Electric Id recommend something made by Braun.

I started off with the Gillette Sensor Excel, then migrated to the Mach 3, and now I used the Gillette Fusion.

Fortunately I don't ever have to worry about razor bumps like many other african american males [IMG]

Usually I go electric, but sometimes I just let it all grow out and and up with a really cool beard.. Depends on the times, you know?

Razor.. Gillette Sensor Excel, 's what I've used for 7 years and what I'll continue to use, works fine and dandy.

I use electric for everyday shaving, but if I have a date/important meeting/etc then an actual razor is the way to go for silky smooth skin. Oh, and I use an old brass safety razor.

Razor. I'm thinking of getting the old-school blade even.

Razor. I just use generic 2-blade razors.

1-blade razors take too long to shave.
    3-blades aren't that bad.
4+ just seems like overkill and it gives me irritation on my face.
I also hate razors with swiveling heads. They do NOT give a closer shave, I get a much closer shave with my generic 2-blade fixed-head razor.

I've never even tried an electric. I'm not sure how well it'd work, my facial hair is very thick.

get yourself a reasonable electric shaver

the blades are a good way to cut your face

multiply the times you are likely to cut your face per face per day and times that for 70 years to put things into perspective.

use a hair trimmer to get the bristley stuff off first then use the shaver for the chopped stuff, the shaver cutting edge lasts longer.

mmm safety razor w/ badger hair brush as well.
Once shaving becomes a ritual rather than... a process
It becomes so much more worthwhile.

    It's almost therapeutic

beard, or when I'm forced to shave, small knife I've given a razor edge to.

I can't use electric razors, as my facial stubble tends to ruin them in short order. The only thing I've found capable of standing up to it is a set of barber's hair trimmers.

there's nothing like a clean, close, well stropped blade to give you a glass smooth shave, but in all honesty, I'd be perfectly happy to utterly dispense with the whole mess altogether, grow a beard down to my belt, and tuck the tip into my pants.

I am officially giving up shaving. Unless I'm working a job with a dress code, I give. I'm tired of wrestling with facial hair that gives a 5oclock shadow within 2 hours, and grows measurably in a week, when I have a detectable beard in a month...it's too much of a pain.

I feel like a chia pet.

When I shaved I never could use an electric so I went with standard razers. It's been years since I shaved, now I use a set of hair buzzers with a 5/8 inch attachment to trim the old beard once a year, whether I need to or not.

sounds like you have my problem, free.

my beard fur is the strength and dulling ability of an SOS pad. It does horrible horrible things to blades of all kinds, and I literally, even just shaving off my 5oclock shadow ruin a disposable, and I hate the thought of trying to take an actual straight razor to it, as the steel doesn't deserve that abuse.
