Does anyone listen to him? He's alright, definately his contribution to rock 'n' roll is great. I prefer his stuff from the 60's and 70's, such songs as "Suspicious Minds" and "In The Ghetto".
I've heard I think everything he's ever recorded, he really wasn't that good. Influential yes, but nothing special.. except that he had those hips.
He was the one that made rock popular but at the end of his career he went more and more fat and depressed .. He was influential , I can't deny that .. He was racist and he said that beatles were '' a part of the anti-american spirit and that they did the promotion of drugs ..
Personally I think Elvis is a bit overrated, but his earlier work (20'-30's) is pretty decent and quite influential on the musical progress in that period.
Elvis IS overrated!!!! And the fact the he said that about the Beatles makes me hate him even more...........
Ofcourse it is absolute nonsense, you are full of shit! Elvis had absolutely no influence on 20's and 30's music. you are either full of shit or you are a huge idiot.
Do I agree with you? Not always. Am I rude to you? No. Please try to keep our discussion on an adult level instead of cursing eachother out and calling eachother names. Love, bird.
When did he say that about the Beatles? He sent them a telegram when they first arrived in the States, welcoming them and wishing them luck on their conquest of the country.
