I can't find much information on this drug. I don't even really understand the Wikipedia article on it; whether it's legal or illegal, etc.

From what I've read on it, it sounds like something I'd definitely be interested in.

Is it at all popular anywhere?

4-Methyl-aminorex is a stimulant drug of the 2-amino-5-aryloxazoline class. Commonly called "Euphoria," "U4EA,", "U4Euh", "Intellex", "4MA", "4-MAR", "4-MAX", or "methylaminorex"; 4-Methylaminorex has also been termed "ice" due to the appearance of pure 4MA as large, white crystals, although the street name "ice" is more commonly used for pure crystalline methamphetamine. The US Government, by statute, defines "ice" as methamphetamine with a purity of 80% or greater. It is banned in many countries as a stimulant.

4-Methylaminorex has effects comparable to methamphetamine but with a much longer duration. Some contend it has fewer side effects.[citation needed] Users of 4-methylaminorex generally believe it to be a non-addictive stimulant. Some users say that its effects are somewhat similar to modafinil and pemoline (which are generally considered to have a low risk of dependence)[1][2] although 4-methylaminorex is much stronger than those drugs. More detailed user comments can be found on Erowid.[3]

Contrary to these claims, the results of animal experiments conducted with this drug suggest that it has an abuse liability similar to cocaine and amphetamine. One study found that, "timulus properties of racemic cis, racemic trans, and all four individual optical isomers of 4-methylaminorex were examined in rats trained to discriminate 1 mg/kg of S(+)amphetamine sulfate from saline. The S(+)amphetamine stimulus generalized to all of the agents investigated". [4]] A second study in which rats trained to discriminate either 0.75 mg/kg S(+)-amphetamine or 1.5 mg/kg fenfluramine from saline generalized to aminorex as amphetamine stimulus but not to fenfluramine.[5] Rats trained to discriminate 8 mg/kg cocaine from saline generalized 4-methylaminorex to cocaine-stimulus.[6] The reinforcing effects of cis-4-methylaminorex were determined in two models of intravenous drug self-administration in primates. Vehicle or 4-methylaminorex doses were substituted for cocaine. One of the two different doses of 4-methylaminorex maintained self-

So why go and quote Wikipedia? My question is: who has done it? Is it widely available/popular or hard to come by?

You just proved my point: there isn't much information on it. I couldn't even find a thread on this forum on it.

    1) I would like to know peoples' experience with this drug before taking it. That is the point of this thread.

    2) Talking down to people doesn't make you better than them. It just makes you an insecure jerk.

    Take care.

No one said you have to explain anything to a "kid"..you chose to post, and you did absolutely nothing productive in doing so. And telling him that maybe he'll be a doctor has absolutely nothing to do with his question. He's just trying to get some more info on the subject before using it. If you have nothing productive to say just don't say anything, didn't your mother ever teach you that, I mean you're 37, whats your excuse..
