Evolution of Internet

Internet started out in 1969 when the United States Department of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA), were doing research on decentralized networking, queuing theory and packet switching to connect computers and ARPANET was developed. Initially it was designed for military purpose but due to another US government organization, The US National Science Foundation, in 1989 the NSF Net backbone was established, other than that of MILNET network (military).
