so ive been wondering has there ever been a positive outcome on ppl using dread wax in there dreads? i havent used any but was wondering if this has been done.. i seen a guy w/ amazing looking dreads and he told me he used wax in the beginning of his his dreads.. till they were a lil older and hes had them for 7 yrs.. n they r PERFECT..
It's the biggest con ever! I still can't believe people think it helps! It makes your hair into a dirt & sweat trap, it stops any knots from forming and makes your hair into a unknottted lump. Mamamojo was one of the very few people who managed to recover any hair at the end of wax removal
This is scatteredleaves boyfriend. I used wax to start my hair no big deal. ive had my locks 4 years now and have had absolutely no problem with mold, stickyness, or any of the problems many people (who havent used wax) claim are caused by wax. people here make wax into way too big a deal. i know several people who've used wax with great results. i also know people who have had bad results with wax but these people generally use way more than needed (pmeister you being a culprit) My hair is neither dirty, nor unknottable and Im sure if you saw pictures of it you would never know I used wax. Afll yosfu wax haters casn gO SUCK SODFARING EASGLES DICK>.
beginning with wax... 3.5 years... ( i dont have any that are up to date) Its pretty obvious that Ill soon need to cut my hair because my locks are basically candles that I could use in survival situations to light fires. Holy shit. Also as you can see, instead of locks I just have loose hair that is clumped together by bits of wax and mold. FUCK OFF. p.s. I must add that I am not actually scatteredleaves boyfriend, Im actually a computer hacker working for dreadheadhq
GROSSSSS!!!! It left a waxy residue alllll over karla's scanner. OMGZZZZZ! It wont even wash off with Scrubbing Bubbles Counter Cleaner. Btw, Pete do you contradict yourself in every post you make or just the ones I read. "Im not touching this one, but notice the lack of closeups" "Alright Ill drop it now, but HHB is really mean and makes me shake so bad I cant even sleep." "I dont like little girls but PLEASE PM ME AS SOON AS YOU ARE A FULL MEMBER!"
Don't be stupid, we all know that's OBVIOUSLY not your dreadlock. SE could NEVER be wrong and he NEVER overreacts about ANYTHING. EVER. Wax is horrible for everyone, and anyone who uses wax products will get cancer and die. Oh, and don't forget, their dreads will never be salvageable. I mean, seriously, what would Jesus do? He wouldn't use the Devil's Wax Product, that's for sure! In seriousness, wax isn't really necessary to start dreads and can pose a problem if it is used in extreme excess. Wax is a little building block that can be utilized to keep your new dreads sectioned or less frizzy, but too much of anything is going to end badly. I'd say use your own judgment, but my gut instinct would be to not fuck with the stuff unless you find it absolutely necessary. But really, it won't ruin your life (like some members here seem to believe).
do you even know me how the hell do u even know my name seriusly what the fuck is this? i guess you are a freind of hhn trying to continue drama? yea if offered to let some ppl pm me who had questions that had been answerted over and over and over..so what? are you really trying to just stir up more trouble? so i liketo help peole so fucking what usualy its toswer the same ol questions like how do u get a picture in your sig.. 1st off we dont need to have the same answer 30 times in the same thread and they cant do it till theyre a full member so when theyre able to get a sig pic i tell em how to get a sig pic..yea im just horrible like that i guess quite jumping on hhb's bandwagon trying to stir up drama incidently..have you not noticed that since i stopped replying to him days ago he tried hard as he could to keep the drama going another day turning new ppl against me as mudch as he could.. and when i still refused to reply hes just vannished? hasd he posted here since? nope no more drama why would he (and now your going to get it all stired up again? congrats yoyr helping everything go to hell around here..good for you were so damn proud of ya i guess hhb is your boyfreind? figures
SE, for once, I ask you to attempt to see why you seem to attract so much dramatic and negative attention here. Stop blaming everything on everyone else, and try to take responsibility for the fact that you don't seem to be capable of saying your opinion without rubbing people the wrong way. When drama follows you around, usually it's not because of "everyone else", it's because of the way you are acting. And for the love of all things holy, if you're not going to bother to spell check your posts, you can at least make sure your opinion makes sense. If you don't care enough to make sure they make sense, why should anyone else care enough to decode them?
Shit man, didnt think youd guess it but yeah HHB pmed me and told me to try and start shit with you through her account... Way to try and blame everything on him. Ive been around the forums for a long time SE. I'm the silent observer that has finally decided to speak out against your daily bullshit I read. I used to have some respect for you until I actually started reading your posts. Back on topic. Could you please explain to me how wax has damaged my hair? Wax was helpful for me. I have very coarse thick hair that has a tough time knotting... Maybe, It's just that I don't want dreads enough like Luxie's hubby and my hair's subconcious won't allow it to knot . If I hadn't used wax, my locks would have taken a great deal longer to form up. Before I backcombed I washed my hair with soap once a week, never brushed or combed it and I didn't even get a single tangle. A few other things I have problems with is that you claim "Lock Peppa" is climbers rosin. Funny because I'm pretty sure its Zinc Oxide... those corporate assholes must be lying again with the ingrediant lists on the labels. You claim wax doesnt wash out... Ever wonder why we use soap? Soap dissolves hydrophobic chemicals like oils and.... wax. Wax obviously won't come out with plain water because Its hydrophobic and insoluble in water. The world would sure be a sticky place if we didnt have any substrates that could dissolve oils and waxes. Instead of attempting to form HHB conspiracies focus on the substance of my posts, not your little fantasies.
substance of your posts like suck my dick huh? Lock Pepper- Zinc oxide, silicone dioxide, methyl salicylate, rosin, bentonite, wintergreen mint zinc oxide from wikopedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zinc_oxide what makes u think thats good in hair? 1st ingreient pwder second ingrediant http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silica sand http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methyl_salicylate 3rd ingrediant a toxic substance used to kill plants hmm maybe they think the sand might grow some cactuses? i dunno no idea why this would be good in hair either rosin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosin tree sapo yup love that in my hair yummy yummy yummy good stuff huh? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bentonite basicly clay..ok i can see that clay and sand (dirt) and tree sap (organic matter) could lead to something growing in your hair requiring herbacides.. maybe there is a logic to this i dunno ofcoursewe know wintergreen mints to cover up the smell again my critisism of lock peppa is right on..its simply flakes dirt and crap u add to make the hair nasty and knotty then seal it all in with wax if you can tell me why tree sap clay herbacides and chemicals used in industrial adhesives are good for hair or knots id love to hear it
:cheers2: cheers! I'll be honest, I'm anti wax without even trying it. I have thought about it here and there, but upon checking out dreadhq gallery, all I saw was baby dreads that have been waxed, rarely do I see more "mature" ones. Now I ask you to be honest with me, how often did you wax through out your journey. Do you still use it? any named brands? I like to get both sides of the argument, and first hand experience would seem to be the best way of knowing. People that result to these forums from negative wax experience seem to have "over waxed" (I'm making assumptions and not pointing fingers). I'm usually one to hold judgment till I am more educated, and through these forums, I got my "education". Please inform me more on wax. Thanks.
SE, obviously you wouldn't find merits in using wax to further the dread process. You make it quite obvious that you are 100% against anything that is not 100% natural. I will ask you, once again another question (that you probably will not answer, like most of my questions); why should members of this community be respectful of your opinions at all? Most people who frequent HipForums are able to RESPECT other people's opinions regardless if they actually agree with them or not. You seem incapable of respecting the opposing side and behaving maturely when confronted with a dissenting voice. Why should anyone listen to you or want to listen to you if you flat out refuse to give those who don't agree with you your respect? I am not simply talking about this thread, or the posters in this thread. I have seen you tear apart people's opinions (albeit not well) without a lasting grudge or any sort of previous conflict influencing your posts. And this is just a friendly Public Service announcement... Wikipedia is NOT a reliable source for ANY kind of information. Anyone and their dog could change the information written on those pages, so there is no way to weed out what is true and what is not true. Anyone in high school or college would probably know this, seeing as Wikipedia is rarely an accepted source for research papers.
I used DHHQ brand wax. I waxed according to the directions after every shower for the first 6 months. I slowly quit using it as my hair got knottier until finally I do not need to use it anymore. The wax works wonders for smoothing out frizzies and making your hair look more presentable which many people with locks want. I however embrace my frizz. I do not use it any longer however I would have no problem using it if I wanted my hair to look more presentable for whatever reason. SE, I have used lock peppa several times and you wouldn't believe how knotty it makes your hair. You seem to assume Lock Peppa is used for hair growth when all it does is increase the friction between your hairs and helps form knots. Also I would appreciate it if you would address the rest of my post instead of ignoring the fact that my posts prove use of wax isnt detrimental to everyone's hair when its used according to directions. :cheers2:
I didn't over apply the DHHQ wax, i'm not getting involved, i'm glad you had a positive experience with wax, good luck in the future.
I never used the lock peppa, but I did have the same experience with wax. I never had a problem, would still use it if I felt like, and I'm quite sure all the wax that I have applied come right on out in the wash. Also a good clarifying shampoo works wonders!!! If you do make a valid point you will be bashed, ignored, or randomly redirected
uniformed equal sizes nice n dready n knotty as hell.. nice round tips with lil frays cause he rips n twists the ends.. ill try n get a pic or sumthin
