Funny on one hand, on the other hand true enough to be scary. Fortunately never had a facebook account.
The only way anything like this is scary is if you think there is anything private online to start with. It isn't and never will be. Every single thing you do online goes through an ISP... ISP's are not secure. Even if they were secure from hacking, they hand over any information they have (including surfing habits) when presented with a warrant. That was why there was such a big stink over the bill here in canada that allowed police to request that info without a warrant of any kind. Either choose to be online and accept that what you do isn't private, or don't log on.... ever... to any site or service... lol
very true...i dont have dorkbook and never had it.......i run disclaimers every once in awhile so my lawyer can point to them in case the popo wanna try some shit like this i post many stories online...they are all fiction...i lie online to fit in with all the other people that lie online...please dont take me seriously as my posts are for entertainment purposes only ...................................................rollingalong
The thing is ISP hand over info when presented with a warrant, facebook hands over info when presented with money. I think you will agree theres a little difference between the two.
Yeah, one is you volunteering information to someone, and the other is them taking it on whim.... As long as people keep allowing them to be distracted by issues like 'what is facebook doing with my info', they will continue to be led down a garden path in a fantasy world. It doesn't matter a single bit what facebook does with the information that people give them when EVERYTHING that you do online goes through ISP's and is easier to access then facebook is. I've said this before about this and people insist on thinking that sites like facebook are the thing to worry about... Facebook, like myspace, like google+, like every other social networking site, may have been funded by the cia... it may not have... I don't really care either, because anyone who thinks that the cia or other such organizations would ignore ISP's as an info gathering source while investing in something like facebook, is completely missing the point and following along with the planned distractions... Yes, they likely do have their hooks into facebook... and a lot of other sites... Hell, they have infiltrated baking circles to gather information.... of course they use every resource they can. Starting with ISPs.... Every single thing you do online, is being filtered through an isp... not just what information you choose to share somewhere.... but every keystroke online, every video you watch, every email you send, every picture you see, everything, goes through the ISP's, not just first, but multiple times, because whatever you are looking at, is hosted and their info goes through their ISP as well... If you want privacy... never log on to a computer, use a cell phone, a landline, walk down a city street (even small towns these days), have a credit card, a bank account, a mailing address, pay taxes (or even fill out the forms), don't participate in census taking, find a place to crash that you don't have to rent unless its cash with no questions asked, stay away from all cops.... OR... accept that privacy is a fallacy, act in a manner you are proud of and fight to try to at least keep 'them' in check as much as possible. Having a facebook account or not, is totally irrelevant... IMO anyway...
No but willingly putting crap on FACEBOOK is just stupid.... THEN MORE THAN YOUR ISP KNOWS!!!!!! It is so sickening NO ONE CARES ABOUT THIER PRIVACY ANYMORE
Dude111, it ALL goes through your isps routers and dns and gets stored so they know as much as your facebook even if you delete your facebook. use 8.8.8.8 as your dns?, google has your info too. ALL OF IT! don't like it? unplug it and hide under your bed. no privacy online anymore. theres $$$ in all that info.
Too bad I desperately need a facebook intervention. At least I don't tell everyone where I am and what I'm doing constantly. ...Or waste hours on facebook apps.
Well, there goes all the people paranoid about the CIA. if you aren't a criminal, you should be fine. come on, America. are we seriously gunna track people on facebook?
Why should we fear the CIA? It's the fear of them that gives them their power. Who cares if they see what I do? I have nothing to hide; I live my life and if some geek behind a computer wants to watch, then the more power to him, wasting away his own life. I just updated my Facebook status; "Taking a dump while listening to Britney Spears." I am very very happy that this information is going into the CIA If they want to be spies and try to "control" everyone, then they can go for it. But how much "control" do they physically have over your life? Walk outside and do something, you will see in most cases you can physically do anything.
Who gives a flying fuck about the CIA? a)I am British, so you can just fuck off! lol. b)You only care about Christian morals and how it relates to any religion other than puritanical Calvinist style Christianity. Oh, and oil. c)You only care about American interests and not world interests since 1936, so why should my family care about you? Ok? lol.
i never had facebook . email is just fine to keep in touch with friends . facebook is waste of time .
Funny thing is that even if you deactivate your facebook account they still have every bit of your information in a database, I mean you can download your whole facebook from the site. The government and CIA have full access to these databases, but who cares? Unless you're a terrorist, into child pornography, or the biggest meth cook in the US, you've got nothing to worry about. We are still in control of the information that's out there on the internet. Yes, they have access to it, but we chose what to put on it. No worse than the government reading all of your text messages and listening to your phone calls.
Never post or upload photos Use a fake name and a computer that you bought with cash and only use for sketchy searches, conspiracy and sabotage research...that helps right?
