i have a really hard time falling asleep, i feel like i always have. staying asleep is usually much easier i tend to only sleep a few hours each night tell the 5th or 6th day where i just crash... i wouldnt have this problem if falling asleep were easier. its hard using up the necessary amount of energy each day to sleep good at night w/o the use of mild-altering-substances.
i'm the opposite. by the time i go to bed, i'm generally pretty exhausted and i can fall asleep pretty much immediately. but then i sleep for maybe four solid hours, and then i lie in bed for the next 3-6 hours (depending on whether i need to get up or am able to stay in bed until i'm actually rested) sleeping for an hour and lying awake for 15 minutes to an hour at a time, then repeating.
I used to have problems falling asleep but now I'm total reverse. I can now fall asleep anytime anywhere even in a car during the day which was impossible. I have problems keeping asleep now days, it feels as if I wake up 10-15 times a night.
I have a lot of trouble falling asleep. I think I'm pretty much dependent on Benadryl these days. I have zero trouble staying asleep though.
I have problems sleeping because I have sleep apnea and restless leg syndrome. To top it off now that I am diabetic I have to wake up every other hour to empty my bladder. I find these days I exist on 3 hour cat naps a few times a day.
also try not forcing yourself, because that will keep you awake, but letting your mind de-focus, or use simple meditation tricks but let yourself fall asleep instead.
Staying on a fixed sleep schedule helps me. Keeping mental stimulation minimal 30 minutes before bed also helps. Laying on a heating pad on cold days puts me in a relaxed sleep state rather quickly.
I've always had trouble falling asleep for as long as I can remember. I am always the last one to fall asleep, and it's so hard to just relax and try and sleep. It's been even more difficult for me lately, I don't know why. I'll get in bed and lay down around 12 at night, but end up staying up until 2 a.m. tossing and turning.
Does anyone else have to have the TV on when you go to sleep? I have found that if I find a nice boring show on the History Channel and turn the volume down to a point where I have actually concentrate on what is being said to understand it, I will fall asleep faster. If I just let my mind wander a little the voice sounds like Charlie Brown's teacher and I drift off. But if I wake up in the middle of the night (Goddamned cat!) before sleep timer has turned the television off then the sound aggravates the shit out of me.
I have to do exactly the same thing when I fall asleep! I turn the tv down way low so I can barely hear it. If I have the tv all the way off it's too quiet and I'm not able to sleep.
Broony do you exercise? I have problems falling asleep, always have. I get wired at night. But if I get in at least a brisk walk or a 30 minute work out it helps immensely. I don't know if you smoke cigarettes but when I used to smoke a lot I feel like constantly having nicotine in my body really messed up my sleep cycles. I sleep much better now that I no longer smoke. It doesn't really matter how much sleep I'm getting or how sleep deprived I am, I still get wired at night. Good habits and exercise really do help but you'll still never catch me in bed earlier than midnight. I've been going on 5 hours of sleep a night for a while now and I can't bring myself to go to bed earlier. I think sleep habits are pretty deeply ingrained and can be hard to change.
I haven't smoke a cig in 5 years. My work i walk and walk and walk, but it does nothing cause when i get home my mental energy is fucked, feel like im on speed. I exercise, but not everyday, id say i exercise 4days a week. Sometimes less cause i get busy, but i try. I have to exercise to the point of exhaustion...its the only way. Which can be rather difficult.
When my days aren't busy i'll stay awake all night and have trouble going to sleep. But now that my days are busy im falling asleep around 9 or 10 easily. I usually stay asleep all night. Sometimes i wake up maybe once or twice to pee or if im dehydrated.
I find both hard to do. But if I am without my child then I will sleep in until 2pm without meaning too, no alarm will wake me!
Usually the kids wake up between 7-11 am. When we don't have the kids i still usually wake up pretty early cause the boyfriend is a early bird. But i've been soo busy in my first term of college and so much homework i have just been so busy and so exausted i can just sleep and sleep and sleep.
When i quit the liquor, i got a whole new bag of problems. One of them is insomnia I need a few things, and need to do a few things after work to help me sleep, even if i get of work at 10 or 11 pm.... 1) A solid 2 hour workout where i just go go go go 2) Eat and drink nothing after 8pm except water. No snack nothing. 3) A beautiful woman in lingerie waiting after i get out of the shower to either, just rub my back, or i had the blood circulation in my lower region after, a blowjob, sex ect ect. Those three things would seal so many damn problems in my life...so simple yet so difficult. Ive been told by a few people that i need to give the opportunity to let other girls into my life and not shut them down so hard...cause i love brunettes and all my girlfriends been brunettes...and for the first time ever im asking a blonde, who is also 6 years older than me which ive never dated someone that much older than me. Tomorrow im asking the beautiful lady if she wants to come and learn about my world cause im trying to find the right one to share it with. I got good signs in life about this one...so we shall see... cause she blonde i bet ill get here (lol) So yes this will help me sleep.
