I never read classics fast. The fastest classic I ever read was The Idiot, and that took nearly a week. But I read every Discworld book, 1 day each.

Doors of Perception: 2 1/2 hours first read.
On the Road a total of 8 hours two sessions, first read
War amd Peace full weekend average sleep (i don't reccomend this, no matter how good you are , details play leapfrog...and I NEVER want to read this again..so I don't claim to "know" the book. )

I read Gone With the Wind the first time in about 5 or 6 hours (don't remember.. I stayed up all night doing it when I was 10 or 11) and in 4 hours every time since.

I read the DaVinci Code in 5 hours.

I read really fast if I set aside time to do it... most of the time I just read a little bit here and there.

I read "The Stand" (extended version) during a weeks worth of Filopino Physics classes, taught in Filopino (guess why I was reading The Stand?). So, about 7 and a half hours.
