Ray Charles, and I can't recall the name of the group, but they did a song called "Sons Of Africa".

    I have others as well.

    I second the nominations for:

    Miles Davis
    James Brown
    Parliament
    Funkadelic
    John Coltrane
    Marvin Gaye
    Jimi Hendrix
    Prince
    Louis Armstrong

    To this, I'll also add:
    Malcolm Mooney
    Aretha Franklin
    Al Green
    Herbie Hancock

That's all that I can think of now.

If Hendrix isn't African-American, what is he? Hendrix is definitely African-American.
