I'm startin to really get into blues. I've been listening to BB KIng, Muddy Waters, and John Lee Hooker. I've got to say that my favorite way is Muddy Waters. I don't know why he's my favorite, I guess I just like his sound better.

oh muddy is definately cool, especially w/ johnny winter. Johhy Winter has to rank up there pretty high for me just for his raw vocals and WAY too smooth slide guitar. And probably Jimmy Reed, Jimmie Vaughan, and Buddy Guy. Right sweet smoke...it is tuff.
i have lots of faves, McKinley Morganfield and Chester Burnette among the top. ry cooder and Little Wolf are both good as well. For a current group, Omar and the Howlers are a great sounding blues band.
Either Howlin' Wolf, Lead Belly Muddy Waters or John Lee Hooker although I'm far from an expert on the subject.

Tinsley Ellis- he's my uncle... no shit. Then there's this fellow named Bones... he played at M'Vorneen's pub in Cartersville, GA this past summer, and he let me sit in and play a lil' harmonica and howl on some Mississippi Fred MacDowell tunes. It was sweet as hell, and then some! My other favorite would be Jimi Hendrix.... I don't care what you say, he was a Blues guitarist before anything else. Jimi is what happens when Blues hits acid without any prior idea of what acid does to Blues....
You have excellent taste! :sunglasse Muddy is / was THE MAN!!! (I spell M...) And John Lee is just awesome beyond words. I just watched the Blues Brothers a few nights ago. I wish they had made John Lee's part into a full musical number. He is so fucking cool!
John Lee Hooker's "Five Long Years" is my favorite of his.... that and "Crawlin' King Snake" or "Hobo Blues"........ The conviction in his voice rivals that of the only real contemporary blues singer, Otis Taylor. If you've never heard Otis Taylor, the it's time you got your head outta the clouds, and get down.... real low down..... flat against the bottom of the hole..... that's where his music will take you.... and Orsino2, you'd dig on the insane guitar licks probably.......
Mississippi John Hurt or Son House, tough call. These guys epitomized everything the blues are about.
