Its starting to get cold enough to want to keep a pint of good whiskey around. Whats your whiskey/bourbon of choice?

    Jim Beam here

i prefer scotch whisky to most other whiskies. my favorite is maccallan cask strength, but its too pricey for me to buy a bottle of. once in a long while i'll get a glass at the bar though....a shot's worth is about 11 bucks where i go, but a bottle is too much to spend the money on, even if cc to cc buying a shot at the bar is more expensive

their 12 year is good, too

but if i buy scotch i'm more likely to go for something a little more affordable, like isle of jura, or if i can't afford a good single-malt, i'll occasionally get a blended whisky like chivas or johnny walker

for other, cheaper whiskies...i dunno...tullamore dew is good for blended irish whiskey....i like wild turkey alright once in a long while....sometimes the seegrams vo or something....

I like Tullamore Dew and Wild Turkey Rye. But I'm not much of a hard alocohal drinker, so I rarely drink whiskey.

I'd rather drink beer and whiskey, and I usually buy whiskey when I don't have money.

My favourite is Blue Label by Johnny Walker, yet logically I can't afford it... so I settle for good ol' Evan Williams :D

I'm an Irish Whiskey man myself and generally stick to the Blends because of price, namely Jameson, Tullamore Dew or Bushmills (Blackbush preferably). If I'm willing and/or able to spend a bit more cash I'll splurg and get a bottle of Redbreast which is a "Pure Pot Still" whiskey. A really great and reasonably priced whiskey is Tyrconnell which is a single malt and also very good, but a bit to harsh to share with my wife. (She prefers something a bit "smoother").

But I do enjoy a good Canadian Whiskey as well, namely Crown Royal or Canadian Mist, helluva cheaper to go this route.

If I drink bourbon its usually Makers Mark or Wild Turkey.... JACK MAKES ME YACK!

Thats my favourite too! I found it by accident. My friend was supposed to pick me up a quart of tequila, but accidentally bought that. (I don't know how)

i had classic twelve year the past two nights, which is a canadian whisky made by canadian club. i've never had regular canadian club, but i definitely liked it better than any of the seagrams i usually get when i am cheap and buy canadian whisky (seagrams 7, VO, or VO gold) i haven't had crown royal in a loooong time so i can't compare the two, but i remember thinking the crown was way overpriced.

this stuff was 17 bucks and actually pretty good, but nowhere near as good as a single malt scotch. a buddy of mine got me two DAMN nice cigars for christmas, and i'd honestly be surprised if he spent a penny under 25 bucks for the two of them, so i felt the need to give him a nice gift, too...so i bought him a bottle of aberlour 12 year single malt....he insisted that i try a glass, so i did...and i think its one of my new favorites. i still prefer macallan cask strength, but thats FAR out of my price range.

i bought a pint of glenlivet recently, and its pretty decent. a bit pricey for what it is, though, as far as i'm concerned. it was almost 20 bucks for a pint, and i thought the aberlour was much better, and cheaper too at about 35 bucks for the fifth. isle of jura isn't too bad, and i like macallan 12 year, too. but so far my favorite scotch is easily macallan cask strength
