Only in Texas….(can you find such incredible bullshit)
Here's a picture of the new world record whitetail deer.
It was taken by the cousin of a co-worker's sister's,
uncle's, best friend's, son-in-law's cousin. It has an official
Boone & Crocket score of 2,603-3/8 and was been shot in
West Texas from 675 yards on a really windy day around
a curve over a mountain. Reportedly, this deer had already
killed a Brahma bull, two Land Rovers, and six Jehovah's
Witnesses within the last two weeks alone. They said it
was winning a fight with Bigfoot when it was shot.

i am not against hunting. im more interest in domestic animals, because they are more reliable in survival situations, but i would like to learn to hunt, and i can certainly see the benefit of putting up a large animal for winter sustenance.

and trophy photos can be unnerving, but they shouldnt really bug you. the buck is dead, it doesnt care, and its not easy to bag an animal, so a hunter should be proud. how you can be more willing to kill a human, for doing what humans have done for a long long time, is mind boggling to me. what do you enjoy that someone else might be so offended that they would be willing to kill you for it?
being offended is a personal problem. its not the hunters fault you dont like hunting, its his freedom to hunt, and you can deal with your offense at the act in a matture, intelligent way, or not.

A dead animal shouldn't bug anyone? Okay.

Yep, they should be so proud to have killed the poor thing. I must be missing out on something so special.

I don't mean it to sound the way it might do, but I'm glad he can't pick up a gun.

It's only fair, if the deer have guns too.

I felt so bad for him, cause he loves to hunt, and him not being able to pick up the gun. makes him think he can't do the things he once was able to

I bet it cared when it was fighting for its life with a bullet in it's body.

Don't get me wrong I understand hunting for food when it's a necessity. But hunting for sport is ridiculous. If it came down to it, and I couldn't buy food from a market - I would grow my own fruits and veggies over hunting a buck.

Humans are at the top of the food chain for a reason, I'd say its pretty fair that we use something we created for our own benefit. If the deer can invent, manufacture, and use a gun, more power to it.

Thats like condemning a hawk for using it's talons.

If there was no other choice, then I wouldn't argue it. But Like someone else said - hunting is not a necessity. It's cruel and usually for entertainment, because there is no other reason for it.

You'd happily kill a lion who tried to eat you right? Giving a human a gun is not fair in anyway.

I do not agree that animals were created for our benefit, I find that ridiculous.

Yes, sorry I forgot that they can shop and cook food, they don't need to hunt do they

People all have different opinions, but I won't ever agree in killing animals for fun.

Slaughterhouses are far worse than hunting, as long as the hunt is for food, not just for thrill/sport. I think hunting is alot more humane than raising hundreds to thousands of animals in shit, cramped conditions only to be executed once they hit the proper/age/size/weight. Compare that with a few guys out in the bush killing 1 or 2 deer that they have to work to find, take the shot, land the shot, then carry back to their truck, take home and clean. I see nothing wrong with hunting as long as what you kill is used/consumed somehow.

to all the feel-good hippy vegan types in this thread: do you realize that not every 'hunter' is a budweiser chugging redneck in a pickup truck that only hunts for pictures and bragging rights? some people actually hunt not for 'fun' but for food.

my dad has always hunted for rabbit, squirrel, deer, and fished in creeks to feed the family. not because he gets a thrill from it, or because keelin stuff is fun, but because it's more humane, healthier, natural than buying pre-packaged slabs of beef from a grocery store.

think about the situation before you condemn all hunters. get off your hippie high horse

    That's an excellent point.[IMG]

I've never been hunting and I don't have any desire to. I'd rather watch animals in the wild then to kill them. That said, I've never understood this idea that humans and animals are equals.
