its seriously stupid. nobody is willing to give loans on cars older than a couple few years.. im in the process of applying for one, but i gotta wait for my wife to help finish the application... any suggestions on someone who would loan a pizza dude $2500 dollars for a 1992 chrysler fifth ave. with only 87k miles in excellent condition? I'd totally make 400 or more a month in payments. it'd be paid off in no time. i just really want this car.. oh, and there's no Money Forum here.
Try for a personal loan before a car loan. Car loan companies are more likely to approve you if its higher than like $5K. Personal loans have less interest and are better for things like that. Plus, you can take out up to $3,000 in most cases so you can pay for any repairs it might need. That's what I did for one of my cars
Difference is, I don't worship at the altar of the dollar. BTW, what is "seriously stupid" to me is buying a '92 Chrysler gas guzzler. $2500 can get you a very reliable newer, economical honda or toyota that will last a lot longer.
You can't just get a signature loan for $2500? I know we had to get a co-signer with collateral to get a $1000 loan, and they required we take out a full coverage insurance policy on the car we put up as collateral if we wanted any more than that. But that was with seriously seriously shitty credit and everything. Surely you can find someone willing to loan you that much, in the scheme of things, $2500 is really not much money.
Banks have no interest in helping people of modest means - in fact, it's in their best interest to avoid helping the poor altogether.
my lincoln town car was nice too,,, but apparently it made me look like a crack dealer So I gave it to an arab for free, after a police stop...
Or here's a thought, save some money up. If you can sock away $400 a month, you'll be able to pay cash in about six months. I'm sure by the time six months roles around, there will be something comparable for sale.
beat me to it. you just said you have $400 a month you can spare. put it away for a while and then look around for a good deal.
You can get a Payday loan to help you out. Something like 1500% interest on those. You seem like a real savvy car buyer, so that should work for you.
yes..they are built on the same stupid K shaped front subframe...look under a kcar from 1982 and look under that dynasty fifth ave piece of crap....they are basically the same except for what you said...they are available with v6 engines crap is crap..most dynasty type cars are in the scrap heap up here because the rear spring seats are weak and give way on that stupid kcar rear axle they use
