well, today I got to go to my first appointment at the shared care maternity with one of the midwives. (There's 3 of them there, they all rotate unless I have an issue with one of them). All in all, the whole thing was awesome. She said everything that I wanted to hear! I got to learn how to do my own blood pressure, urine tests, and weight. It was fun! Oh and good news about that too...I LOST 4 pounds. I was happy to hear that considering the weight I'm at now and with Leane I had already gained 20 lbs by this point!
Anywho, the only thing that I was a little "iffy" about was the breastfeeding issue. Its the same LC as last time that this place uses.....I wasn't too happy about that. But all in all, the midwives are also LCs and there are 4 more on staff. She was saying that the real problem cases go to see her. I think part of the biggest problem last time too was that I had to wait forever to get in to see her, and so things just got worse. But the midwife said that if it's an emergency like mine should have been thought of last time, I'll be able to get in within a few days./ But hopefully we won't get to that point and all will be good. I made sure to tell her baout maggie's "diagnosis" on here and she thought that was a very real possibility. But yeah, this time I'll be going to lots of classes and get really educated on it so it goes better this time.
As for the birth, she basically was astounded about how crappy Leane's birth went and said that I am in for a VERY different experience this time. She made sure to stress that this is about me and my baby, not money and time.
    Ah, I'm happy.
Only crappy thing was that I couldn't hear the heartbeat today....guess the little guy/girl decided to do some hiding.
Question though, do you think that it's too earily to feel some movement? Or am I just dilusional? I know you're supposed to be able to feel it sooner the second time, but this earily? I think my dates might be off a little, though....not sure, but I have an ultrasound in a month to get some measurements done. But yeah, I could have sworn to be feeling some flutters! lol

Wow Kirstyn, sounds like a great place. I'm glad that they were able to give you the reassurance you needed, and that they are serious about giving you the help you need should you have any problems breastfeeding. And finding out you are a little lighter when you are afraid you're getting fluffy is always fun. *big smile* I'm feeling fluffy these days, for sure.

I don't think you are much further behind me... I'm, 18 weeks?, along and I've been felling flutters for a little while now. At first I thought it was just gas from all this vegetarian food(so many fricken' beans) I've been eating here at my fiance's house, but now I am sure it's baby wiggles. It's so exciting and reassuring to feel them! Can't wait 'til they are strong enough for daddy to feel. :)
