First time doing acid in a few weeks?

So my friend is throwing an end-of-exams party/gathering thing in like 3 weeks. Nothing big, only like a 10 - 20 people type thing. I was thinking of just getting high but my friend said she wanted to do some acid and my other friend (who's tried a fair amount of drugs but not acid from what I remember) said not to, no idea why. Everyone's gonna get there at like 7pm or something and leave at like 1 - 2pm I'm guessing. If anyone does do it, it'll only be a few people (me, my friend who suggested it, maybe the girl who's gonna get us the stuff). Do you guys think this is a good idea or would it be better to do it when there are less people around? Anyways, I was thinking of kicking off an hour or two before anyone gets there (if possible) just so I can get comfortable with the experience (this is my first time doing any drugs other than pot), and if not then hopefully the fact that other people are doing it too will comfort me. I'm staying there over night (she lives about an hour away) so I won't have to worry about getting home if I'm still tripping or whatever. So yeah, good idea or not? And if so, can someone give me some first timer advice and what to expect, or point me towards some info? I've briefly researched acid, and by that I mean I know it's not gonna make my balls fall off or anything, lasts about 10 - 12 hours, (...right?) and 1 tab is enough for a first time, but does anyone have any advice for me/us? Obviously I'm not asking you if I'm ready for it, but rather is this a good environment to do it in?

EDIT: One last thing - will it be safe to smoke pot before/after going into the trip? I thought it'd be a good idea to smoke a bowl or whatever beforehand to help with the nervousness seeing as it'll be my first time. If not, how long after coming down from the trip should I wait 'till I smoke pot again?

 

Thats a tough one. Seeing as you have no experience with anything but pot it might not be the best environment but its definatly doable. My first time it was me and two other friends at his house. It was a much more intimate setting where I didnt have to worry about not making sense or trancing out to anything. A little bit of weed on the come up might not be a bad idea, but other people might disagree. Honestly I think that one could go either way. It will ultimately be up to you in the end.

Will there be people drinking there? I personally dont like being around drunk people when im tripping. I like to be around people that are all at the same level I am at.

 

Yeah most people will be drinking like they did last time, and although they'll probably drink more than they did then, they were hardly drunk. They all had like a couple of beers each just to loosen up a bit and have fun. But yeah, like I said, there will be a few other people doing it too hopefully.

 

Do it with like minded individuals ideally a close knit acid friendly bunch.

Being in a large groups could have adverse affects to your enjoyment as you could feel very insecure as you dont know why your feeling that way.

I suggest a smaller group in a comfy place with music and ambiance lighting.
Stay hydrated fruit juices or water and later some kinda munchies.

Most of all enjoy and dont listen to the hype :2thumbsup:

 

Yeah, I was just thinking other people are alright at parties so I should be. Another question though - I'm (hopefully) gonna get there for like 6 and we might not even get the stuff 'till a bit later. If the trip lasts 12 hours, I don't wanna be awake until 6am lol, so will I be able to sleep while I'm tripping or will I have some crazy urge to stay awake? If not, could I just get stoned to help me sleep? This is my only concern now really, and I'm not bothered about "wasting" the rest of the trip, seeing as this is the only chance I think I'll have to do acid for a while. I might only do like half a tab at first anyway, not sure.

 

Don't expect to get a wink of sleep for at least 12 hours after dosing LSD. Pot will help you get to bed but there's no shortcut around the acid, it's going to keep you awake. It's not some 'crazy urge' to stay awake, it's stimulation, just like coffee provides. I personally would not do acid in this setting, but that's me. For me it's not a party drug -at all-, it's quite deep and emotional and personal. With that said, your one tab may not be super quality so you might just get giggly and feel really nice for 8 hours.

You can smoke pot during the trip, a lot of people like to get it started that way, with a big bowl. I'd save it til a few hours into the trip so you can get a good feel for acid on its own. Drunk people are annoying on psychedelics as well, lol.

Anyways good luck if you choose to do it your first time in this setting. One big factor is how well you know all these people . . . do you only know one or two of the 10-20 people coming, or are you all one big group of friends? If you only know one or two people you might find it a little 'crowded', lose interest in the social scene . . .

 

For your first time I'd tell you not to risk a place where you need to "hide" it from someone, like a party with 20 people (which I'm almost sure you don't want everybody to know you're tripping), and don't do it alone, basically get a friend you trust and everything, organize the place you're doing it before doing, so you won't happen to want something you have no clue where it is or get bored, or something like that..
About smoking pot, well I'm kind of a suspect guy to tell you that, since I just love smoking pot, if you like too I would recommend you to smoke a joint just after you take the hit, so the first effects of LSD kicking in won't be like "OH ITS COMING, ITS COMING" for me at least when I do weed before LSD it's more like "OH shit I'm tripping".. so I'd say it's good to smoke because you won't have all that terrible anxiety..

 

Honestly dude, it's a bad idea. Learn more about what you're considering, it's not a toy. After you've tried it a few times then judge for yourself if you can hang at a social party whilst tripping. Until then, I would suggest not to.

 

i'd only say to go for it if you were good friends with those 10-20 people.

ideally, i like to trip around only other people that are tripping with me. sober people are kinda weird, and drunk people are worse IMO.

i'd save it for another time, try to spend the night at your friend's (who is doing it with you) and just have less people. and take at least the whole hit.

 

There you go. A straightforward and to the point answer. As you read about LSD you'll find more than one person saying something like, "the most profound experience of my life." Not every trip is that profound and not everyone has that trip. But if the acid is good, you'll be in such a completely different and new mindspace :sunny: that a party where people are drinking will likely be pretty gross and crude - at best you won't be able to relate (nor they with you) and at worst, a major downer.

See the Porkstock's park thread and Writer's long trip report for ideas on tripping. I mean it really can be the peak experience of your life. But not at a party where a couple of you are tripping for the first time.

Oops, I forgot to mention, tonight we shared the year's first tomato from the garden. Also peppers and eggplant, with thyme. The rue is doing well, the passiflora will be huge, and the cactus is coming along.

I've met all of them before and because I was stoned as hell (and some of them too) we bonded pretty quickly lol. It was like a bunch of my friend's close friends though so we we're all pretty chill with each other, I'll probably get high beforehand too anyway which will make me feel more comfortable around them.

 

Ok cheers, I'll smoke a bowl or two beforehand then. And nah, I won't have to hide it, they're not "z0mg drugs are bad" people or anything. Even if they were I wouldn't hide it from them lol.

 

You're welcome, if well if you don't mind being with people that aren't tripping while you trip and you feel comfortable with them I'd say it would be a nice experience, personally I love to interact with people while on LSD, instead of my brain only it's someone else ideas and what not, should be interesting, and remember don't over react on whatever might happen, oh make a report about it if you actually try it please, hehe

 

I was sitting in the living room in the duplex where we used to live in an older part of town (actually we're still in the same neighborhood more or less). The front windows were leaded poured glass, with some stained glass. I was some hours into some orange barrels. I remember looking out the window, seeing everything patterned, energy all around ... I picked up a Whole Earth Catalog and started reading something by Wendell Berry. "Think small" he was saying. Start by being a better husband or wife or son or daughter or parent, be kind to neighbors, grow a garden. That was one of the points where my life changed. I've been gardening ever since. Good for the soul.

Acid is :sunny: REAL! Isn't that a great thing to realize!

 

Hey guys, I've not been too active on here recently 'cause I've been on the GC forum quite a bit. Looks like I won't be tripping for my first time considering one of my friends isn't going and I can't get hold of any acid any time soon. I was looking into LSA but I'll leave it for some other time in the summer. Speaking of gardening and psychedelics, we're having our garden re-done and everything and we're gonna have some flowers and stuff put in, so what did I suggest? Morning glory, oh yeah. I hope we do actually get some, maybe I could keep a few...

 

Set and setting is so vital you should wait and have a smaller crowd friends you know well and are comfortable around, find out the dose on the blotters so you have an approximation so you can mediate your dose.

LSd can produce the greatest xtc a man has ever known... its the best experience and it will leave you with an after glow that makes you want to tell the world about it

 

Just one thing, keep in mind that morning glory will take over... it's a climbing vine and in the right environment it will just go and go. If you don't want it everywhere, you'll need to keep trimming it back.
