First time DXM

Im 1.65 tall(meters) and weigh bout 60 kilos, how much should i take, if i do it in 30mg pills ?

And also, if its any fun to do at all. Cuz idk.

 

I'd go with about 300mg for a first timer to get a feel for where exactly they are going. Make sure you get the ones where the ONLY active ingredient is dextromethorphan (DXM).


Also, no. No it is not. DXM ruined psychedelics for me forever. Just say no to DXM (and yes to just about everything else).

 

MAKE SURE THE ONLY ACTIVE MEDICAL INGREDIENT IS DEXTROMETHORPHAN. Anything else will at best make you vomit or have violent diarrhea throughout the entire experience, or at worst permanently damage your organs or KILL you.

Now, if you're certain it's only DXM you're injesting, there's something you should know. The DXM high changes dramatically based on dosage. Much more dramatically than other drugs. In fact the changes from dosage are so distinct and discrete that it is commonly agreed there are 4 "plateaus" or highs you can get from DXM, from various mg ranges.

I personally find the 1st and 2nd plateau to be waste, as it's basically just like being drunk and high on ganja. Entering the 3rd and 4th plateau is where the magic is. This is the FAQ that I read which turned me onto DXM and taught me everything I needed to know. I have linked you specifically to the plateau description section. I recommend about 400-600 mg for your first trip.

Do yourself a favor and read through that faq as much as you can. Skip the technical chemical stuff but at least read about the side effects, things to help you, etc. Get some practical knowledge before you do this.

Something you should know, very few people would describe DXM as "fun". It is certainly not a party drug. It is something you want to do alone, in your room, with the lights off and your favorite soothing happy music playing. And for god's sake, make sure there is no chance of your parents walking in on you or any other situation like that. You will be on another planet my friend. It is about as much fun as meeting the devil; but if you're brave, adventurous, and have an open mind to learning things which can and will turn your world upside down forever, then DXM will become one of your favorite drugs, like it is mine.

Daedalus says DXM ruined psychedelic for him, well, DXM was my first psychedelic, and made me want to try more. So obviously there is a large range of reactions to this weird stuff.

Note that technically it's not a psychedelic, but a dissassociative, like Ketamine.

DXM is more like a tool than a drug; handle it properly and it will do wondrous things for you, but weild it immaturely or hastily and it will cut you.

Great, it seems that there is a lot of help here, I decided that tonights the night. So i went down and bought myself a pack with 20 pills in it. The only other ingredient is lactose, and a colour thing (E). But im not sure about one thing though, cause the pills i bought is like solid, and i heard it should be like gelcaps with liquid stuff inside . But it says 30 mg DEXTROMETHORPHAN. So for a 400 mg dose i should take like 14 pills. But how long will the trip last ?

 

400mg would last you about 6-12 hours, depending on your sensitivity. Non-medicinal ingredients should always be browsed through, but they are "non-medicinal" because they are virtually harmless, like food coloring and sugar. Although I have never seen solid pills, only gelcaps, DXM is a powder, so its quite possible I suppose to press it into a solid pill.

If you want you can post the brand name and product name of those pills and i'll check for you. It sounds like you've got the right stuff though.

Silica, kolloid waterfree (E551), propylenglycol (E1520), magnesium*stearat (E470b), talcum (E553b), titandioxid (E171), gelatine, hypromellose, cellulose, mikrokrystallinsk (E460), lactose.

IDK how much you get out of that, since its in danish . But none of this shit is listed on the package.

 

Most of the stuff seems harmless though.

 

Hey, did some quick searching, and found out that a product called Romilar was awailable in the US, until '73, cause people started abusing it, it was in tablet form Guess i got lucky, not having to chug down syrup .

 

When I did dxm I used "Tussin Cough" gel caps..from rite aid.The only ACTIVE ingredient is DXM. The other ingredients it says on it doesn't really matter I dont think, it's what it has under the ACTIVE ingredients. 15mg are in each pill. good luck

There is a bit of a "hangover" the next morning, you will feel a little groggy and spent, and you might still have some slight lingering side effects like slightly blurry vision and trouble walking.

 

Not really going for the high plateus, mostly a high two. Well, chickened out yesterday, and i think im gonna wait till the weekend, cuz i got school.

 

if ya dont go too high it'll probly be fine....my 1st time was like i was drunk and just 'out of it', my second time was like a wicked insane 'body trip', and my 3rd time was like i was so far away from my body it was ridiculous!! it is fukkin' weird it is definatly a trip, but not of the 'cid or shroom nature....a body trip, where i cant feel shit and in not with my body but i can control it(control to a minimum) i believe it was about 650mg's and about 6 hrs later the EXTREME dissaciation came...lol i might give it a whirl this weekend...

 

Well, anyway, decided to to 300-400 mg for a 2. plateau.

 

So, yesterday i got myself together, and started at 8 with 10 pills. I can feel them working pretty quick, but nothing really happens else than my muscles twitching a bit, and a little roboitch.
1½ hour later, where i had been listening to music all the time, i found it weird that the pills didnt kick in at all. So i did the most stupid thing ever: dose Boosted, it was only 5 more, bringing me up to 450 mg(have in mind that this was my first trip). Around ten i could feel the first pills working (after two hours, wtf?), i started feeling really drunk, and a little high, also the roboitch began to kick in, but i ignored it. Half an hour later (11) i could barely stand, and my vision was a little blury, and my movements was in like quick twitches. So i lie down on my bed with Pink Floyd in my ears, and wait for the hallucinations to come. But they didn't? Instead i just felt like i was part of the music, which was pretty fucking trippy afterall. After like half an hour i realised i could barely move, so i lie down again and just think about the week that has gone by, when i close my eyes i see spaceships coming at me, but its not like a halucination were you believe you are there, its more like watching a movie. So I tripped out till 3 in the morning, then i fell asleep. Next morning i have no trouble getting up, and when i get in the kitchen i realise im still a little high, and now its not drunk at all, just high. I eat breakfast and im a little groggy(6 in the morning), then i take the train to school. On my way there i listen again to Pink floyd, and then i close my eyes, and a almost real halucination comes to me, im standing on a platform and jump up, up, up onto these blocks of flowing mercury, it lasts ten minutes and then its over and i go to class. Overall a pretty OK trip, next time im gonna do more for sure.

Can people tell me why i didnt get proper halucinations? I only felt drunk and high on weed? Was i not on the second plateau? Why did the pills take so long to kick in?

Oh yeah, today all i thought about was this weird sign that comes up every time i close my eyes, but im gonna post that in the dream thread.

injesting anything takes 1-2 hours to work, as stomach acid is not very powerful. If you want closed-eye visuals and an experience that will change your life, drop 600-900 mg
