Penis Envy are the most potent Cube, but good luck growing them on a first try. Other than that, a Cube is a Cube as far as potency goes. Personally, I think that B+ or Golden Teacher is a good beginner strain, because they tend to be fast and rhizomorphic with good contam resistance.

as has been mentioned, for the most part strains are meaningless when it comes to cubensis. one or two have unique properties, but its not a big deal in general, and rarely is potency really any different.

however, i have a soft spot in my heart for southeast asian strains. i loved the original koh samui strain, and i really adored the cambodians, too.

not that they're better than, say, central american strains or any others.

its just that your personal experiences in growing will give you certain impressions of the mushrooms which really have little or nothing to do with the strain itself anyway, and these impressions will color your thoughts on the subject. as a newby you should be able to pick any basic strain and do well.

golden teacher, PF, b+, cams, ecuadoran, koh samui, whatever

Start with B+, its an easy 1st grow,a little more forgiving temperature wise.

Its not too big a difference as long as youve got a good solid incubation set up. When I first started, I didnt. I was growing B+, EQ and Texans, they were incubating at 70-72F, should be around 82. B+ were the only ones that colonized, albeit after 3 weeks. The others had some small spots but never fully colonized.

It was my first time and I rushed into it. Later I simply put a 40W light bulb in a file cabinet drawer and that's where I incubated. Never got below 80F and everything colonized beautifully. Ive used a similar setup since then, small desk lamp and 40--60W bulb depending on the size of the space. Cover jars so as to not expose them to light.
