Anyone going to the 9/25 Flips show in NYC? It's gonna be amazing. My friend got me into them and it's our first lips show. Recent set-lists have just been great.
i saw the flaming lips this summer at wakarusa festival. They are entertaining, but i wasnt a big fan of the music. I liked their older stuff (90s) better....But they definitely put on a show. The dude crowd surfs in a bubble....yeah just wait. They are a little "mainstream" in terms of the music they make and they have a whole shit ton of dancers and entertainers....lights and stuff. But Im sure you guys will have a great time dude..... There is this band from NY called Oshe. I think they recently broke up, but if they are still touring in NY you should check em out there pretty tight. Always lots and lots of good music in the NY area.
one of my very favorite bands, but i've only seen them in concert once. they put on a great show, and i'm told they put on a very reliably great show, but that individual shows are notorious for being very similar to one another (the same types of elements are used over and over....a kind of signature....for instance the fuzzy wuzzies) but you should have fun, especially if you like them. you'll be impressed most likely.
