i really like this band, i just heard "rumours" for the first time today. well actually the only tracks i remotely enjoyed were written by stevie nicks. i really like her, her voice, her songwriting, she rocks. she actually lives in my town, my mom talked to her at an art gallary in the 80s, she said she was really cool and down to earth.
I've got CDs of them I've never listened too but once. I do that sometimes. I don't really like them a whole lot. A bit over rated...
well some people dont like their sound, and thats cool. like i said i only like stevie's stuff. listen to the guitar on "gold dust woman", its a nice overdrive sound, very clear, yet dirty enough to give it such a dark feel. plus the it keeps switching from a major and minor sound, which makes it really interesting. its like playing over and over again im my cd player now.
I saw them twice back in the 70s. they put a great show, and i hear that they still do. (their not as drugged out now, i makes up for age) A friend told me (as the the blew by) that miss Nicks did alot of drugs and fuck everybody at a party one night. If you look close at her, she been ridden hard. the life of a rock star
i try not to over anaylyze music and get stuck on one aspect, takes out the fun and pleasure for me at least, i like just listen and dig it... but im going to sleep, peace all
i hear steve nicks did so much coke, that it like burned hole into a part of her nose and had to get surgery to fix it. i think they are a great band, but from what i hear from people who have seen them now and back then, the suck compared to what they used to be like. drugs will do that to you.
LOL Yup I like Fleetwood Mac too. My Dad is a fan, he has Rumors on LP and CD. So I kind of grew up with it. My favourite song of theirs (at the moment) is Rhiannon.
fleetwood sucks worse then the bee gees. the boomtown rats is were its at. they show musicel ability and talent.
Early Mac was good (the 60's) Mid-Mac was better (late 60's, early 70's) The well-known successful Mac became a POP band, and it spoiled them. Check out “Oh Well” from “Then Play On”, that’s what they sounded like live in the early 70’s.
My mum loves 'em, I grew up listening to Fleetwood Mac, they have some cool songs. Not the best, but not bad at all.
