Mono has been going around here. I think I may have had it a couple weeks ago. If I find out my ex-boyfriend (who I was dating at the time) got sick, I'll assume that is what I had. Haha.

Well, they recomended it, and I haven't gotten the flu. [IMG]

That story didn't prove anything, the rate of autism increasing so dramaticly is due to the increased understanding and diagnosis of the disease.

Did you notice that one family with all 5 children autisic? Thats defintly proof of something genetic, and of course those parents don't want to think that there childrens autism is genetic... thats a frightening thought for any parent.

In the 80's autism wasn't recognised until late in adulthood, so the statisitic is misleading.

Furthermore, flu-shots don't contain mercury, they contain a small amount of thimerosal which is a preservative derived from mercury.

There has been no concrete scientific link between thimerosal and autism.

    http://www.fda.gov/cber/vaccine/thimerosal.htm
    http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/living/health/10846599.htm?1c
    http://www.cdc.gov/nip/vacsafe/concerns/thimerosal/faqs-thimerosal.htm#12

About 36,000 people die in the united states because of influenza, many of them children, this dramatically outways any theretical risk of autism.

Although this is still a concern, so pregnant and nursing women and parents of small children (for the kids) should insist on thimerosal free flu shots.

unfortunately, there's no such thing as a thimerosal free flu-shot. there's methylmercury in every flu shot available.

    <shrug>

you believe what you want to believe. enjoy your neurotoxin injections! LOL

i didnt get the flu shot/methylmercury injection or the flu! and my immune system is in excellent shape. (yay me!)

    From the National Immunization Program

    1. Do all flu vaccines contain thimerosal?

No. Influenza vaccine is currently available both with thimerosal as a preservative and preservative-free. For the 2004-05 influenza season, it is likely that 6-8 million doses of inactivated influenza vaccine without thimerosal as a preservative will be available. This represents a substantial increase in the available amount of inactivated influenza vaccine without thimerosal as a preservative, compared with about 3.2 million doses that were available during the 2003-04 influenza season.
The removal of thimerosal as a preservative from influenza vaccine is a complicated process. The total amount of flu vaccine without thimerosal as a preservative will be increased as vaccine manufacturing capabilities are expanded. In the meantime, it is important to keep in mind that the benefits of influenza vaccination outweigh the theoretical risk, if any, for exposure to thimerosal. Each year, an average of about 36,000 people in the United States die from influenza, and 114,000 have to be admitted to the hospital as a result of influenza. People age 65 years and older, people of any age with chronic medical conditions, and very young children are more likely to get complications from influenza.
You can believe what you wanna believe too, but nobodys dying because of flu shots, while 36,000 people die every year cause of the flu.

I'm in impecible health, so I don't really need a flu shot either, [IMG]

but my mom offered to pay for it when I wen't overseas and I figured no flu is better then a flu.

    Yay me. [IMG]

ps, there's not really much point in getting into this with you lodui, because you're obviously staunchly pro-vax, but for the innocent bystanders who might actually believe your rhetoric, there was a recent study that might be of interest:
kids under the age of 2 have immature immune systems. the best way to support their immune systems and prevent dis-ease is to breastfeed them. they recieve immunoglobulins, etc from their mama's milk that protect them from illness. an otherwise healthy baby who is recieving breastmilk just isnt goign to die from influenza

injecting babies with neurotoxins just isnt ever going to make any sense to me. it's just not something that thinking people DO.

    :D

    cheers!!

lodui i challenge you to find me a product monograph of a flu shot that is completely thimerosol free. you wont be able to do it.

even the "mercury free" shots contain mercury. there's no way that it can all be removed...there's always some residue.

a little bit of neurotoxin is too much neurotoxin for me. :D

ps, all injectible influenza vaccines also contain aluminum AND that aluminum increases the toxicity of thimerosal tenfold

and do you really WANT to be injecting yourself with aluminum too? blech!!

There's trace amounts of mercury in municipal and bottled water.

Theres rocket fuel in breast milk.

You're exposed to so many neurotoxins and poisons it'd make you cry if you knew about half of them.

Iodine and NaCl which are nessecary for human life, are crazy poisonous.

Are you feeling weak or enfeebled? If not whats all this terror about? :D
