I'm starting a food convo thread for those of us here that like to cook and talk about our daily food.

So I'll start with my dinner tonight:

    Roasted carrots:
9 large carrots, cut in half lenghwise, and then cut in diagonal pieces. Tossed with good olive oil, salt and freshly ground black pepper. Roasted in a single layer on a baking sheet at 400 degrees. Then tossed with fresh chopped parsley.

    Drunken chicken:

Take a piece of thick ham, and dice it. Sprinkle it on the bottom of a 13x9 inch casserole dish. Place 5 or 6 boneless/skinless chicken breast halves on top, and season with salt and pepper. Then pour 1/2 cup dry white wine, and 1/2 cup drambuie on top. Bake in 350 oven for 30 minutes.

Then melt 3 tb butter over medium heat, and cook 2 packages sliced mushrooms for about 5 minutes. Then add 1 cup sour cream, and 1 can cream of mushroom soup. Pour over chicken, and bake for 30 more minutes. Serving with hot white rice.

And I also have a big keilbasa, chopped into 2 inch rounds and 1 box of dark brown sugar in the crock pot on high.

I've been making dinner for my father, mom, sister&boyfriend, and myself so I have to make a lot!

Right now I'm searching for tequila recipes besides margaritas. Including triple sec and lime juice. Anyone know of any good ones?

So from now on let's all talk about our cooking in this thread.

lol believe me, there are plenty of girls out there who can't cook! My sister being one of them. She can't even make a batch of box brownies without ruining them. The last batch she made, we had to use a screwdriver to get them out of the pan!

Ok so my Tuna Noodle Cassarole is really simple and easy...

    Ingredients
    1. 1 Family Size Pouch Star Kist Tuna (You can use the canned stuff I just prefer the pouch)
    2. 1 Box Velteta Cheese (Other cheeses are acceptable, but dramatically alter taste and moisture)
    3. 2 Cans Cambells Cream of Celery Soup
    4. Milk
    5. 16oz Bad of wide egg noodles
    Directions
    1. In large pot boil noodles until slightly tender (do not boil too long as they will become soggy) and set aside for the moment.
    2. Place pan ban on stove, pour both cans of soup into the pan, and heat on medium. Add just under 1 cup milk.
    3. Once heated, add in tuna and mix well.
    4. Next add in noodles and again mix thoroughly.
    5. Spread a layer of noodles & sauce (about half of what's in the pan) in baking dish, and place a layer of cheese ontop then repeat with remainder of noodles & sauce.
    6. Cook at 350 for 15-20 minutes or until cheese is melted and serve.
There are many additions you can add in (i.e. veggies), but this is the basic recipie that my mom always, made.

    Tonight for dinner I made:

Cajun Chicken (Whole, 4lb): I just rubbed it with paprika, cayenne, chilli powder, ground black pepper, onion powder and garlic.
Then popped that sucker in a pan, tin foiled it, put it in the over for 1 hour at 350, removed the tinfoil and left it to bake for another 45 minutes, got all golden brown and fantastic.

Then I made garlic mashed potatoes, green beans and fresh, warm french bread.

I love when I have enough time to cook a proper meal. Wish I took pictures, It was sooo goood.

shaun- that sounds really good and comforting. I'll have to try it sometime.

Jusdino4it- your bread looks delicious, and the other food looks great too! Glad you'll be able to help with keeping this food thread alive!!

Stella- sounds great! Also, I've never given blood before. I guess I've always been a little afraid. Especially since I hate doing it medically, and to just do it voluntarily would be awful. lol I know it makes you feel good though. :)

Your no bake peanut butter fudge sound a lot like a no bake cookie i've always made. The only difference is I never put coconut in it, and I add a tsp of vanilla.

My famous peanut butter fudge recipe is easy, and delicious.

    2 sticks butter
1 12 oz container of peanut butter (creamy or chunky)
    1 lb confectioner's sugar

melt butter over low heat, stir in peanut butter until melted, and then turn off the heat, and stir in sugar until all of it is dissolved. Then you spread it into a 13x9, and chill.

I have to make it every single year for christmas, and I am so sick of it now, but I used to LOVE it.
