Going a little stir crazy because winter is still here, I'm fantasizing about the summer festivals I will be attending this summer.

I'm definitely attending Shambhala again. Loved it last year! Oh my!

Because of my children, we can really only do one other festival since Shambhala is a four/five day event. Sooo....

My main goal is to make it to String Cheese Incident for their Red Rock Shows. *sigh*

If that doesn't work out for whatever reason, I will be attending Motion Notion here in my province.

I'd much prefer a live band festival rather than electronic music, but there are few around here and they are all on a much smaller scale. If we lived closer, I would substitute that for Evolve which is on the far east coast of Canada and a great time!

Anyone else already making their plans?

You should take the trip to America and go to bonaroo man, it's pretty awesome.

Or if you're really down for a roadtrip, go to new orleans, louisiana in october and go to Voodoo fest.

I unfortunately will not be able to go to Bonaroo, but I live in New Orleans so that's definately on my list! Just hope the line up doesn't suck like it has been for the past few years, haha.

I have not even started thinking about festies yet. Ive always wanted to go to the strawberry fest cuz I like strawberries...I dunno whos playing this year yet though. I always go to the kate wolfe fest too. Im a huge folk music/bluegrass geek. There is a local bluegrass fest that we go to every summer too. Yeeehaw!

It's tough for me to plan ahead but I'd like to hit NLQP at least once this year.

Portland Hempstalk is a really good show. GREAT music, and it looks like they've secured this awesome park again, too. Seattle Hempfest is still fun, but I think it's gotten too big for it's britches. Too crowded. And Tonasket Barter Faire!! It's the shizzzzz. Ahem..., sorry... that's if you get to the West coast in your travels. :)

mountain jam is a definant this year, probably moe.down, there is an evolvefest here in jersey, i dont know if thats what you are talking about but we will prbably be going to that. might do camp bisco this year too, as thats always good times. probably going to do a few of the smaller fests in pa. summer is a far time off though, so its hard to say where i will end up this summer.

I'll probably just go to Earthdance, but not for the music. The only music festival anywhere nearby that I get excited about is MusicFest NW in Portland and that is closer to Fall.

i don't like bdo. maybe adelaide is ok, but gold coast sucks. too big, TOO HOT, no shade, bad (REALLY BAD) sound + all the morons who want to go to a festival in the summer but can't be fucked getting to woodford or falls or byron or anyplace too far out of a capital city, OR can't be fucked camping for one night (or 5). the kind of idiots who get mauldy drunk and rank and aggressive instead of chilling out on other drugs and having a good time. PLUS it always seems to rain THE DAY BEFORE the festival but is disgustingly hot on the day of, so you're fucking wading around in thigh high HOT mud/beer/vomit/piss.

i'm sure you're not like that enjoy. i guess there's a lot more festivals to choose from on the east coast so maybe you just don't have the luxury. and maybe bdo adelaide is good. there's usually a pretty decent lineup, it's just the damn vibe SUCKS!
