ok.........today, for the very very very first time in my life......i tried a tampon. but theres a story. my best friend says they work soooo much better and i promise her i'll use one. so..........im having a little trouble getting it in so she helps me. here's the wierd part.....after it was fnally in i got really really dizzy and i couldn't stand AND i got really sweaty. my friend suggested it could've been a result of me being so nervous but it was a horrible feeling. im freaked to use a tampon again. anybody else have or has had this problem? know someone who did? or just have an answer? i need all the help and support i can get right now.
I have only used tampons a couple times and it was when I was backpacking and that was all my friend had. I felt awful the first time I did it. It was uncomfortable and totally freaked me out. And I will do anything to avoid using one. So you are not the only one.
I can't imagine using anything else. If it's uncomfortable, then you don't have it in right. You shouldn't feel anything once it's in. Make sure it's in all the way, you can't really get it too far up so don't be afraid.
My Foster Sister had this very problem when she first tried a tampon. She was a virgin and was alone, very scared about the whole process. So as soon as it was in she paniced, got light headed, clamy and nauseated. After doing some reading on the subject and talking to a few friends she realized that TONS of women use them with no ill side effects so gave them another try when she was more comfortable and had no problems at all. She swears by them now. I was at the beach when I first used them. Had been a pad user for a couple years. My sister talked me into it so I could still wear a bikini. I had only a minor discomfort from the 'new' feeling, but that passed quickly. You should try it again when you're more relaxed about it.
Tampons are god's gift to women. There's no logical explanation why your experiance was down to anything else but nerves, or something that wasn't linked to the tampon. A lot of girls find the first time they wear one a little uncomfortable, but whatever you experiance it's worth it in the long term. I've always seen sanitary towels as a little like nappies, and i don't like wearing them when I'm out and about in the day.
If it's your fist time, use one with an applicator, and use a small one. You're 13, so your body still has some growing to do. If you can feel it, it's not in right. Just follow the instructions, they tell you how far in, and there's even a picture. Once you learn how to use them, you won't even feel them. But if you prefer pads, that's up to you, don't let your friends push you into things.
sorry about that. i use tampons, no problem but there is an alternative-theyre called menstrual cups and the website is http://www.eco-logique.com/ they are better for the environment b/c you dont waste materials like cotton/plastic/cardboard like with tampons and pads, theyre not for everyone though. good luck!
lol..that was funny.... Like all others said, you probably put it in wrong.. It took me awhile to be able to put in correctly.. But once you have it in right, you shouldnt feel anything at all..
Poor Friend, you must be one of those guys who thinks we all have pillow fights in our underwear when we're alone together.... *bursts Friend's bubble*
my hubby thinks the exact same thing. Like we have slumber parties in our see thru teddies and make out with each other for practice...
we don't get naked on the trampoline but we do wear really short cheerleading skirts and bikini tops........
trampolines make me nervous, and me in a cheerleading skirt is a pretty terrifying site...so i guess both.
LOL @ mynameiskic It can take time and practice to learn how to insert a tampon properly. I would encourage you to take time to relax get into a postition thats comterble for you (the first few times I used tampons I had to insert them lyng flat on my back) and practice until it feels comterble. Remeber some people suffer from a fear of inserting tampons and cant stand to do it. If you discover this is you, dont worry, using pads once a month isnt the end of the world.
